Because some idiots use islam as an excuse to be racists against arabs, which has lead to all criticism of islam, no matter how mild, being called racist even though islam is a religion, not a race.

We complain about christianity more because we LIVE with Christianity more.
Trust us, we have no truck with fundamentalist Muslims, Jews, etc. either.
No, it's because Christians are the ones always trying to convert us in this country and showing up at our door at 8 AM on Saturday morning when I'm trying to sleep in. If Muslims went door-to-door to proselytize or tried to get monuments to Allah put up all over public property, we'd be complaining about them, too.

Because Christianity is the problem in America, Atheists who do look into foreign things will also condemn other religions, philosophies, ideologies and political frameworks.
But Christians are the ones trying to fill textbooks with lies, control the media and overturn laws and constitutional rights. If Islamics had larger numbers they MIGHT try such things but until then we're not turning our backs on you. This has always been a stupid argument because if you're talking about extreme Islamism you're bitching about people you have so much in common with.
