A radical Christian would be one who deviated radically from the teachings of Christ. Examples would be Adolf Hitler, Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi. A radical Muslim would be one who deviated radically from the teachings of Mohammad. Examples would NOT BE Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda, the Taliban, Major Hansen and the Boston Bombers as they all did just what Mohammad taught.

Interesting nom de plume. But, I believe you are doing it wrong, if at all.
I believe today that my conduct is in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator.
- Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf, Vol. 1 Chapter 2
I believe today that I am acting in the sense of the Almighty Creator. By warding off the Jews I am fighting for the Lord's work.
- Adolf Hitler, Speech, Reichstag, 1936
"A radical Christian would be one who deviated radically from the teachings of Christ."
For example one who says nobody can have an abortion/teach evolution/let black people marry white people/raise taxes on billionaires because it's against my religion.
Examples would be most of the Republic party.
"A radical Muslim would be one who deviated radically from the teachings of Mohammad. Examples would NOT BE Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda, the Taliban, Major Hansen and the Boston Bombers as they all did just what Mohammad taught."
With you so far, FeralCat. Fact is, at least Al-Qaeda are honest about their intentions. However...:
"A radical Christian would be one who deviated radically from the teachings of Christ. Examples would be Adolf Hitler, Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi."
...*sigh*. You FAILCat. 6th Commandment: Thou shalt not KILL . Matthew 26:52: what did Christ teach in that part of Scripture...?!
Barack Obama & Nancy Pelosi. Timothy McVeigh, Eric Robert Rudolph, Scott Roeder, and many, many more besides. One of these things is not like the other. Which is it?
'A radical Christian would be one who deviated radically from the teachings of Christ', eh? Enjoy your paradox, FAILCat.
So, all Christians today, especially conservative Chrsitians, are radical Christians? I know very few of them who have ever sold everything they owned and given that money to the poor, or even turned the other cheek. In fact, they seem to want to punish the poor for being poor and want to amass great wealth, something I'm sure Jesus would have frowned upon.
So...Christians do bad things, they are part of the radical fringe, Mulsim does bad things, they are a clear example of the whole.
Gotcha. No double standard there.
Sure, his definition is messed up...
But at least for the most part he seems to follow that definition. I mean, not with Obama and Pelosi any more than any other politician in the US... but... meh.
I mean, Adolf Hitler was a Christian who deviated pretty radically from the generally conceived teachings of Christ. I don't see that as being wrong.
And... well... he has a point about Islam. It is far easier to interpret Islam as a violent religion than Christianity, as their central prophet engaged in wars which, defensive at first or not, were expansionist.
@OiNutter! beat me on the Hitler win.
But to add to that: Hitler was a product of the Catholic church, the hate-mongerling of the Jews and other races/cultures was right in line with the church at that time and earlier, during 'Dolfs youth. His swaying of the masses was effective because of those common prejudices.
They love to play the "You wouldn't see a Christian wantonly murder" game, while knowing themselves that it's regular. Have you noticed how many cases of "lone wolf isolated madman" are raised in and connected to church at the time of the crime? It's not unusual, not even remotely.
Good Christians raised and still within the church commit crimes of murder and destruction to this minute.
> as they [Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda, the Taliban, Major Hansen and the Boston Bombers] all did just what Mohammad taught.

By the way, who the fuck is Major Hansen? Can't find anything on Wikipedia.

... and the rest of the so-called social conservative Republicans.
What a shame God doesn't exist. They'd all wind up in Hell.
Tracer,
Nah, but the foremost "prophet" of Christianity was Jesus, who was decidedly none violent in his actions during life (his threats of everyone burning in hell, less so). He didn't fight wars for territorial and religious expansion.
Mohammad is the foremost prophet of Islam (though Adam, Abraham (I think) and Jesus were also considered prophets), and he did fight wars for territorial and religious expansion.
And while the Old Testament is filled with violence (never mind just Joshua), it isn't deemed as important as Jesus.
Well. At least they're honest about Hitler and Obama being Christians. A good many "Good Christians" disregard the teachings of Christ. To some that's what qualifies as being a Christian, ffs, i.e. the GOP.
And have you ever actually been around or spoken to any Muslims? No? Then shut up.
"A radical Christian would be one who deviated radically from the teachings of Christ."
Yes, Buddhists and Hindus are among the most radical of Christians.
"they all did just what Mohammad taught"
According to who? You? A non-Muslim? You lack the knowledge needed to properly understand what Mohammed wrote.
Same fucking argument twats like you use when a non-Christian points out what it says in the Bible...
Confused?
