She also spoke about wanting to shelter children away from anything gay on tv too because she wants to raise them a certain way. aka sheltering them and possibly trying to upbring a sense of "this is wrong cause... I don't like it!" instead of letting their kid decide for themselves.
That's a great argument in support of gay rights.
Blacks didn't like slavery because it is oppressive where other people are forcing them live a life that removes their liberty and pursuit of happiness. Gay should also be permitted to exercise their liberties and pursuit of happiness and marry the same sex partner they love.

Adult gays do move out of bible-thumping states in large numbers, and the states they move to benefit economically and culturally. However, this does not mean that people who do not have lumps of coal for hearts shouldn't keep trying to prevent gays from being persecuted by their schools, neighbors, and parents.

Unfortunately, as long as wacko homophobes exist, there will always be a few around anywhere they go, just as there are still a few wack-job racists around, too. And eventually slavery was made illegal everywhere, just as discriminating against gays will eventually be, too.

Except not at all. Because a lot of them couldn't move away to Magical No-Slavery Land, because they were slaves and slaves aren't allowed to move freely, and they were punished horribly when they tried and got caught.
