[re: President Barack Obama wins Nobel Peace Prize]
There's another way of looking at it.
They didn't like George W. Bush and his conservative views.
So they gave the Nobel Prize to the man he beat in 2000.
They still don't like George W. Bush and conservatives.
So they give it to George W. Bush's replacement after less than 8 months in office.
Norwegian liberals are no friends of Christians.

Norwegian liberals are no friends of warmongers.
Wow, just took one word change to fix that.
Oh, so that's how "Christian" is defined, is it? In that case, I have yet another reason to be glad to be an ex-Christian.
To be fair, Obama won the prize for not being Bush, who in any just world would be on war criminal charges alongside Cheyney, Rumsfeld and Blair.
Areeed, Norwegians are no fans of Christians either, or of any other religious cult's nonsense. That's one of the reasons why their standard of living is so much higher than the USA's.
Gee, it had nothing to do with fact that Bush initiated an illegal war, and Gore educates the world, and that Bush had Americans universally hated world wide, and Obama has changed world opinion of Americans, did it?
"They didn't like George W. Bush and his conservative views."
If by "conservative views", you mean war mongering, yes.
"So they gave the Nobel Prize to the man he beat in 2000."
No. They gave the award to Al Gore fo his work to research and share knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change. He also shared the award with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
"They still don't like George W. Bush and conservatives."
My guess is it's because of your group's "our way or the highway" attitude in approaching diplomacy, and you're brilliantly failed and unnecessary invasion of Iraq.
"So they give it to George W. Bush's replacement after less than 8 months in office.
Obama was awarded the Nobel Prize for his efforts in fostering international peace and attempts at reestablishing diplomacy. Things which your beloved Dubya never, ever did.
"Norwegian liberals are no friends of Christians."
Yes. Hate a whole country for disagreeing with you. That's what your group does best, and is exactly why none of you ever receieved a Nobel Peace Prize :p
It has nothing to do with "onservative" views. There was nothing conservative about Bush falsifying intelligence to justify an illegal war against a country that didn't attack us, torturing prisoners, swaggering into the UN and telling the rest of the world that it was his way or the highway, and denying scientific facts about the climate, to the point that he ordered the alteration and/or censorship of official environmental reports from his own scientists.
Obama got the prize for trying to beginning the process of undoing some of the damage Bush has done.
And Bush did NOT beat Gore in 2000. Kathryn Harris and the Supreme Court did.
Norwegian liberals are no friends of Christians? You have a very cloistered view of the world. Actually, liberals everywhere, including Norwegian liberals, are friendly with Christians as well as being friendly with members of other religions. Many liberals are Christians or members of other religions.
You might be confusing Christians with fundamental cultists who are unchristian primitives with pretensions of being Christian, hardly anyone likes them since they are willfully brutish and proud of their stupidity.
True, liberals don't much like conservatives but conservatives don't like liberals much either.
Really I don't even get the rage about him getting the peace prize, I mean who else in the world right now is a better candidate? I hear lots of people (moderate and otherwise) say he didn't deserve it, but no-one puts up who they think should've gotten it.
@ Orion
The trouble with the peace prize is that it is awarded annually, and some years it's tough to come up with a credible candidate. Hence the long list of unworthy receptors. The consequence is that the thing has become almost meaningless. It really should have been set up to only award outstanding contributions to peace, either ad hoc or on a longer interval.
> They didn't like George W. Bush and his conservative views.
George W. Bush started two wars. That kind of goes against the whole idea of Nobel Peace Price , don't you think?
i'll have to agree with paul thumex here. norway is pretty friendly with other religions and christians in particular. there are ALOT of christian churches in norway. the whole black metal movement pretty much came from norway where alot of the musicians were frustrated at the predominantly christian population. in fact, some churches were even burned down, which obviously, was very much frowned upon at the time. so i would hardly say that norwegians are, "no friends of christians." but you're a fucking idiot, so i guess you're not going to take any of that into consideration.
"They still don't like George W. Bush and conservatives.

Actually, they awarded it to Obama because he prevented Sarah Failin from getting to the White House.
Think about it.
And if your friends don't dance, then they're no friends of mine.
However, if they piss off fundies, I do like those Norwegian liberals.
As a Norwegian liberal or social democrat if you like, I'm happy to not be a friend of your type of Christians, the worst kind too.
Now, if only someone back in the old country would initiate war criminal investigations against the Bush administration, I would be even more happy, but that will not happen. Too many Christian politicians in Norway and some are even HUGE USA fans too, how strange.
Two Norwegian political parties, Høyre (Literally, "Right"), are BFF with the Republicans and Det Norske Arbeiderparti or DNA (The Norwegian Workers Party), a social democratic party is BFF with the Democrats.
Norway has, in general, always been very friendly with the US and is currently one of the few countries on the US Visa waiver-list.
farouk is not speaking standard English, I fear. Come back, farouk, when you have mastered the language and proper English-speakers have a chance of understanding how really stupid you are.
Hint: look up the proper meaning of 'liberal'. And no. Ann Coulter is not good at English either.
Wow, you're right! There's a giant Norwegian conspiracy to destroy fundamentalist christianity! God? Could you smite Norway please?
...
huh. Norway's still there. You know, maybe there's an alternate interpretation here. Like, for example, Bush just didn't deserve the Nobel peace prize.
"Norwegian liberals are no friends of Christians. "
Wait, what did the Norwegian liberals do exactly against Christianity?
I'm wondering because the stuff you posted before that statement is non-sequitur in logic to the last statement and I don't recall reading "Thou shall hate any liberal leaning person or idea." anywhere in the Bible.
But then again, according to your standards, people like you wouldn't consider me Christian.
Wow - that's a real surprise. I'd always thought that Norwegian liberals would have been a natural support base for right-wing fundamentalist American Protestants.
Oh, wait, it's actually not surprising at all...

Well, in the interest of fairness, there may be another explanation for Yahweh's lack of smitiness toward Norway, namely:

Because Bush was nothing, if not peaceful. -_-
So yes, it's not that he behaved little better than a schoolyard bully, picking fights with anyone who pissed him off...it's just an extension of the awful, dreadful persecution you poor Christians deal with.
Confused?
