Sure, women should teach; but only other women. (1 Tim. 2:12) Black and White. This is not sexist, but honor and respect for the authority of the Word.
A womans' capablilty to teach is not the issue. We should not use justifications like 'well, she's a really good teacher' to usurp the authority of the Word. I'm really good at sex, but that doesn't mean I should impregnate every woman I see.
I think Beth Moore is awesome!

Fortunately, public schools are not allowed to follow or enforce the edicts of any religion. Separation of church & state, and all that. And despite your attempt at biblical justification, that was sexist.
I prefer to think of women & men as equals in all things except childbirth, in which women fucking win.
On a different note, stating that you're "really good at sex" seems a bit arrogant - shall we confirm this with your previous partners?
I'm really good at sex
Finds the hole almost every time?
Worst analogy ever, and very sexist, by the way. Anyway, if you are dying from apendicitis, you´ll expect the best one to operate, won´t you?, that´s what counts, not so BLACK AND WHITE. If you say that qualifications don´t count, the Bible would be liquidated in two days.
"I'm really good at sex"
Considering your view of women, and the fact that you felt the need to even mention your supposed sexual abilities more or less proves that you're either lying, or the women you had sex with faked it to spare your feelings.
Well, NonProphet, in Raz's partial defense, he's not talking about teaching in schools (I've been following this thread for a while) - he's talking about female pastors. For the record, though, his opinion still bugs me.
Also, considering his profile there lacks the two rings CF normally uses to designate whether a poster is married or not, are we to assume Raz here has been.... fornicating ? And that he's (gasp) proud of it ??
"I'm really good at sex."
I bet any woman partner he's had would beg to differ.
Oh, so following God's sexist orders doesn't make you sexist? Yeah, well, the Nazi's argued that they were just following orders too, so it wasn't real murder.
The Timothies were not written by Paul. They were written by a bunch of traditionalists apologizing for Paul's radical notions because a religion cannot sustain itself on radical notions - it needs to adhere to the status quo to sustain itself. Either way, the Timothies don't have the Pauline authority, although the pastors who wrote those letters tried to use the authority his name provided them.
A womans' capablilty to teach is not the issue. Your capability to perform the task you apply for is the only criteria that should be considered, except possibly your effect on your co-workers' abilities to do their jobs. Not your gender, colour, mythological devotion, stance on animal welfare, etc.
Sure, women should teach; but only other women. (1 Tim. 2:12) Black and White. This is not sexist, but honor and respect for the authority of the Word.
The two are not mutually exclusive. You are both sexist and honouring the Bible.

Why not? Religion is good at rationalizing.
I'm really good at sex, but that doesn't mean I should impregnate every woman I see.
Probably not. Your wife only tells you that so that you won't hit her . Again.
Word to the wise, Christians believe in the equality of men and women, Paulines like to quote Paul to make themselves feel superior to the women that they fear.PS Those who really are good at sex are bragged about by their partners, those who only think they are good are bragged about by themselves!
So, if a woman is a good teacher and a man is a lousy teacher, you'd pick the man? Great way to ensure that incompetence and stupidity are passed on to future generations!
BTW, I never met anyone who acknowledged being lousy at sex, so I don't believe you on that point, either.
"We should not use justifications like 'well, she's a really good teacher' to usurp the authority of the Word."
I love that word, "usurp". I'm surprised you know big words like that.
"I'm really good at sex, but that doesn't mean I should impregnate every woman I see."
ROFLMFAO
Confused?
