“Marriage' is the institution in which sex between a man and a woman not closely related should be confined.”
Unless you’re Peter Cook, then it’s Mawwage.
But, um, why? Of all the different cultures that practice marriage, what makes it the only appropriate venue for sex?
Can’t be the god, or religion, because different cultures that worship different gods have marriage, plus there are marriages between religious traditions. Can’t be the law because marriage transcends legal authority. Can’t be for property, or love, or diplomacy, or family connections because while all impact on marriage, there’s no version of marriage that impacts all those, depends on the culture.
“Nothing else can be called by the same term.”
But, the term ALREADY covers several different arrangements. Marriage of princes between states, marriage of lovers, marriage of business partners, marriage of convenience, and the whole state of Vegas… You’re starting off way, way behind the curve.
“It's an ideal based on facts not taste.”
Facts. Ideal facts. An oxymoron.
Ideals are imaginary. They’re ideas that occur entirely in someone’s head. Even if you come up with an ideal hammer, the hammer is real, but it’s the thought that makes it and ideal hammer.
You’re fractally wrong, wrong from every angle and at every scale.
Everyone in the room is now dumber for having sat through this bullshit.
