[Were any or all of those stories of babies being born for the reason of being sacrificed to satan true? The McMartin case? I have read there is no evidence of any kidn that any satanic deaths ever occured.]
Very much so today! I worked with a SRA[Satanic Ritual Abuse] girl that was a breeder and they would induce the birth of the baby to sacrifice. They even force her to kill other babies as well.
One of her pregnancies went full term and they sold her baby through the black market down in New Orleans.
I've worked with several SRA people that have stories like this. Pretty sad!

I don't see why this is on this site; this isn't about ridiculous beliefs, this is just about what someone claims to have come across. Whether it's true or not makes no difference - it's not fundamentalist. Just because there is a reference to Satanists in there, doesn't make it automatically laughable.
Two people in a family I know were convinced by a psycho therapist (yes, I typed it that way on purpose) that their family had been abusing them and involving them in satanic rituals all their lives -- and this was in the nicest, most respectable, most conservative, most arch-fundie family I have ever personally known!
The ones involved were induced to say horrible, hurtful things about their family members that at the time they believed were repressed memories but that, years later, they realized were utter nonsense. At length, they made tentative contact with the ones they had maligned; the family, true to their Christian value of forgiveness, took their errant ones back joyfully -- a happy ending, but for the many wasted years of genuine fear and hurt based on induced lies.
The psycho therapist was eventually sued for malpractice by someone else among his surprisingly large number of "satanic abuse" patients, and I believe he eventually lost his license. Considering the emotional torture he inflicted on his patients and their families, I think he got off extraordinarily lightly.
ADDITIONAL COMMENT: Meth, the very concept of satanic ritual abuse is, at best, strictly an urban legend that the fundies believe and promote with their own fear to give them some kind of enemy to fight. It's all smoke, and they don't even realize that they are the ones blowing it in the first place.

Crazy thing is that same thing happened to my father's cousin. She started seeing the very same therapist that had treated the McMartin children around 1990, and she (who was around my mother's age) and her mother started telling my parents how my grandparents were behind McMartin and that they had been drugging my parents and abusing my brother and me, and that my father needed to see the therapist so he could remember.
We ended up having to move to Colorado for a year because they started threatening to call social services. They ended up packing up their four kids and disappearing.
Some people are crazy, and it's sick that they spread their craziness.
I'm dissapointed. Satanic panic, and no mention of roleplaying games to be seen :(
I do wonder if this story was based on any truth at all. Having heard a number of these... SRA... stories, and never a single one which was confirmed to be true (nor anything resembling true), I'm willing to consider the entire story of SRAs a myth without some sort of corroborating evidence. But I do wonder if SOMETHING happened, which whitedove embellished and ascribed to SRA.
Apparently you didn't read the 1993 FBI investigation on Satanic Ritual Abuse that concluded that no abuse ever happened, no one was ever forced to do anything they didn't to, and that those who were claiming found to have been coached by their fundie family and peers
You only have to google for 'satanic panic' to see what a load of bollocks this stuff is. You have a bunch of mentally fragile people convinced by 'therapists' that they were part of all kinds of ritual abuse, but there is no real evidence to support any of it.
That's not to say there haven't been a couple of cases where so-called satanists have sacrificed humans, but there has never been any systemic satanic abuse of the type claimed above.
Unfortunately, there are myriad horrific examples of other kinds of abuse on children and young people, but those have no 'satanic' basis, just depraved human beings.
I've heard of cases like this, but only from christians and christian books and publications. While I don't doubt it happens to some small extent, christians tend to overly exagerate it happening, to try and further their own agenda.
The entire legal system says you're full of shit.
However they can pull tons of files on Christian abuse, Exorcism leading to death or disfigurment, Pedofelic, theiving or rights-violating priests and church leaders, Death Cults based on Christianity and Archaic theocratic (often incestuous) communes.
Just take out the "satanic" part and you'll have the reality. Really, it's another example of how some people are so fucked up that they get their jollies via spreading their craziness around, and dress it all up in the guise of some spiritual system/cult.
Confused?
