[The little girl suffered irreparable brain damage after she stopped breathing in her crib.]
people who are mute, or deaf, or blind, or have phsical or metal problems, are extra special because God let them live and even they can praise his name! The little girl i take care of praises the Lord all the time because she knows that God saved her and that she is where she is today because of Him.

My late companion was paraplegic from birth, unable to feel anything below the hips, so she could not walk -- yet she had the soul of a dancer and often wished God had given her usable legs so she could dance.
She was an extremely devout Christian, praying and praising God every day. She was not about to condemn God for her condition -- but she would have been lying if she'd said that it did not bother her. She just said that when she died, the first thing she would do when she got to heaven was get dance lessons!

I don't think Loribeth would like to meet an old friend of mine from college who was blind from birth. She's a Pagan and renounced the Christian God when she was a teenager. She never once praised him for her mother not taking care of herself and being irresponsible while pregnant. (Her birth mother contracted German measles while pregnant, and I believe she also drank. She later ended up in foster care and once got chewed out for saying in a church she didn't love her mother. The church members practically ordered her to beg for forgiveness. She didn't. :P)
God said those that are handicapped, are a disgrace to the church and a profanity unto the Lord. (another reason I'm an atheist)
"And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto Aaron, saying, Whosoever he be of thy seed in their generations that hath any blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his God. . . . a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or any thing superfluous. Or a man that is brokenfooted, or brokenhanded, Or crookbacked, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or be scurvy, or scabbed, or hath his stones broken; No man that hath a blemish of the seed of Aaron the priest shall come nigh to offer the offerings of the Lord made by fire . . . he shall not go in unto the vail, nor come nigh unto the altar, because he hath a blemish; that he profane not my sanctuaries: for I the Lord do sanctify them." (Leviticus 21:16-23)
First of all, Loribitch, in the bible god isn't too fond of the handicapped. And secondly, even if what you said was true, you basically just stated that god cripples people out of love, and makes it so they can continue to praise his name? He sounds like a sadistic asshole with a superiority complex.
Good grief, Julian, I'm sure glad my late companion Marsha (paraplegic, scoliotic, and subnormal height, or "lame, crookbacked, and dwarfish"), a devout fundie Christian, never encountered that particular verse -- or that if she did, she somehow rationalized around it. It would really suck to think that the one being in the universe who loved you unconditionally despite your flaws (and whom you believed had given you those flaws deliberately in the first place) would then shun you for them under any circumstances. That's harsh!

Apparently, the omnipotnet, omniscient, good and loving God, who is proclaimed to be love itself, didn't care enough for this poor girl to help her breathe. What a guy! Let's all sing praises to the almighty God of apathy.
The handicapped are extra special because God let them live? Aren't all living persons *without* handicaps living? Are the handicapped to praise God because he didn't quite kill them?
Welcome to Leviticus. The first 9 complete chapters are devoted to the correct way of sacrificing animals.
1:14 And if the burnt sacrifice for his offering to the LORD be of fowls, then he shall bring his offering of turtledoves, or of young pigeons.
1:15 And the priest shall bring it unto the altar, and wring off his head, and burn it on the altar; and the blood thereof shall be wrung out at the side of the altar: "Wring off its head and burn it."
1:16 And he shall pluck away his crop with his feathers, and cast it beside the altar on the east part, by the place of the ashes:
1:17 And he shall cleave it with the wings thereof, but shall not divide it asunder: and the priest shall burn it upon the altar, upon the wood that is upon the fire: it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.
Your God is an idiot. He has it all backwards. If he was smart he'd turn people who don't believe in him, and go out of their way to de-evangelize as much as possible, into brain-dead vegetables. That way we couldn't corrupt good god-fearing folk.
Julian: I was just about to post that verse!
Yes, what a wonderful God they have...he'll cripple you and then won't let you into Heaven because you have a 'blemish', which he gave you. Wonderful.
The little girl i take care of praises the Lord all the time because she knows that...she is where she is today because of Him.
If that's not a reason to turn to Satan, I don't know what is.
Confused?
