we could educate people that they will be put in jail for having a back alley abortion. because its kind of murder.
Yes, it "kind of" is, but not in the way you think. Abortion was LEGALIZED because women would resort to this, and...well...die. not that such a triviality would matter to you.
Its not a matter of choice here less then three percent are from rape or the chance that the mother may lose her life.
So? Even if it's 0.0001% that's still far more that should be made to suffer by outlawing abortion.
that means that more then 97% chose to spread their legs, and since we have been told since we were 10 what could happen if you have sex, their is not excuse for allowing people to skip out on the consequences of their decisions.
So? A girl is in high school, with a very, very promising future, and gets knocked up after having one too many. She should carry the child to term? Give up her education, resort to flipping burgers, or something, when she could have been a doctor? A lawyer? Someone who changed the world? All just because of one night of "Oops?" Just because they "decided to spread their legs" does not mean that her life should be over at that point. Also, while you're foaming at the mouth about "responsibility," where is the Dad in this diatribe, huh? Mom gets knocked up, Dad disappears, and suddenly Mom has to work two jobs just to get by. What a blessing.
Then if you actually look at the intrinsic value that all life has you come to this conclusion it is the same thing to say that an unborn baby has less intrinsic value then that of a born child because they have the same chance for survival, that is zero if they are left on their own.
No, we're saying that the embryo has less intrinsic value that the walking womb-erm, I mean woman that's carrying it. It should be her choice if she feels fit to carry the child, and to raise it. Seriously, if a woman is willing to terminate the pregnancy, is that child really going to have a fulfilling life when it's born?
Also you find that it is very similar to saying a person has less intrinsic value because of their race, religion, sexual orientation, physical or mental handicap.
Nnnnnno, it's not at all like that. They are alive, and, barring several cases of mental handicap, self-sufficient. An embryo's status as alive is questionable at best until, if I'm not mistaken, a good chunk of the way through the first trimester. Further, by medical definition, an embryo can meet the medical definition of a parasite. Gonna lobby for tapeworms' rights too?
based on that argument anyone who is not genetically perfect should be killed. Hey wait that sounds familiar what famous Nazi dictator thought that way ?
Yes. He claimed to be doing God's work too. Worked to abolish abortion as well, buddy.
