*In response to another christian poster who said 'gays don't recruit people to be gay'*
Will and Grace isn't recruiting? Glee isn't recruiting? Gay pride parades aren't recruiting? Attempting to pass gay marriage laws isn't trying to codify their evil lifestyle isn't recruiting?

If you honestly think it's possible to recruit a heterosexual to be gay, you are already gay. As someone who is actually heterosexual, I know that nothing could make me desire a man, ever. Why doesn't Respecthelect know this?
Every telly programme, every book, every radio station that contains straight relationships aren't recruiting to the straight life?
Every male/female couple you see on the street holding hands, kissing, wearing wedding rings, showing their children off isn't recruiting to the straight life?
I feel sorry for people like Respectthelect, they are so easily convinced that seeing people behave in a certain way recruits them to that way.
Maybe that's why they home-school their kids when they can't 'evil Darwinism' and book reading out of schools. After all, they are so easily recruited.
*Shaking head in disbelief*
She's absolutely right. Before I watched "Big Bang Theory", I never had the slightest interest in the nerd lifestyle, now I go to science fiction conventions every chance I get. It's all part of the sneaky nerd agenda, I tell you.
If Will and Grace makes you think sexy thoughts about particular actors involved, or men in general, then I've got some (presumably, for you) bad news about your sexuality.
Seriously, if you even think it's possible to be recruited to homosexuality, you're either a complete moron or so deep in the closet you're among fauns and talking lions.
How tenuous a grasp would you have to have on your sexuality to think you could be recruited to be gay?
If the "recruiter" offered me a new Aston Martin and a large sum of cash they still wouldn't be able to recruit me. Why? Because I fancy women!
The "elect" don't exist as far as I'm concerned so no, I do not and I will not respect the "elect". In fact, I ridicule the so-called "elect" for being so damn arrogant and claiming to know the mind of God.
And as to the quote/questions, in short, no, it isn't.
Now, I know that the tv programs, parades, conventions and laws from Christian groups are attempts to recruit more souls for Christ... but just because you lot does it doesn't mean everyone else is...
You're right. No one is going to make people fancy other people of the same gender if they don't want to. Sorry. Some people are gay, deal with it. I've got gay friend and they've never tried to "recruit" me, unless you count them saying "you're looking nice today". But I take compliments where I find them, cos I'm quite comfortable with who I am.
Will and Grace isn't recruiting?
Why? Did you suddenly get the urge to have gay sex after watching it? I didn't. Neither did any other straight person. If you did, then there's no need to "recruit" you - you're already gay!
Well Mr Respecthelect, there's good news and bad news.
The bad news (from your perspective) is that you're gay.
The good news is that anyone capable of free thought couldn't care less.
The gay recruiting movement is peanuts compared to the black recruiting movement. That's been going on for decades.
Just think about it: Dr. Martin Luther King, Bill Cosby, Will Smith, Barack Obama. All those shows, all those songs, all that dancing and rhythm, all those shiny white teeth!
They're recruiting young white folk to turn into blacks! It's so obvious.
Michael Jackson had white kids turning into blacks left and right until he got all confused and turned into a white himself.
Now the gays are doing it. Next thing the Chinese will be recruiting us to have slanted eyes. Will it never stop?
I have personally not encountered a "gay-recruiter" but I have seen military recruiters at high schools, they have offices in strip malls, they even called our house to recruit my kids for the military!
Haven't seen a "gay recruiting office" or gotten calls from gays asking if my kids want to be homosexual! You know why they don't do that? Because it doesn't work that way. People are born with sexual preferences, unlike the military, one cannot be "recruited" into a sexual preference!
No.
No.
No.
And no.
In that order.
No, no, no and no.
If positive portrayals of homosexuals on TV are recruiting kids to be gay, then Lassie was recruiting kids to be dogs. Likewise, I suppose you think St. Patrick's Day parades are recruiting kids to be Irish.
Nope, nope, nope and nope.
You can't change someone's sexual orientation through marketing. If that were true there would be far less gays and lesbians if any at all. These items you mention merely promote the acceptance of gays and lesbians, combating the oppression and demonization many seek to impose because of their own prejudiced beliefs.
If watching any of these things is "recruiting" you or "turning you gay", you've been gay all along. Just step out of the closet already and make all our lives easier.
@TB Tabby
Well played. Have an internet.
Yeah, every time I see My Little Pony I wanna spread my wings and fly fast enough to create a Sonic Rain Boom.
And watching Batman makes me wanna go out and fight crime.
And watching Gargoyles makes me wanna sit on a castle parapet until I turn into stone.
And watching Bugs Bunny makes me wanna live in a hole in the ground and calmly chomp on a carrot when someone sticks a gun in my face.
(I watch a lot of cartoons.)
I was trying to think of a military themed show to accuse of "recruiting". MASH had a strong "War is Hell" vibe, especially in the later seasons. Gomer Pyle, USMC was a bit silly. Maybe G.I. Joe is recruiting?
Uhm... no. You can't really recruit someone into being gay anymore then you can recruit someone into being black.
But I get the idea that Respecthelect is feeling very very tempted to BE 'recruited'.
Seriously Lecty... just give in. Find a nice guy. You'll be happier that way, and we'll have to listen to less stupidity from you.
Will and Grace isn't gay recruiting to any greater extent than The Honeymooners or Bil Cosby Show was heterosexual recruiting. Glee isn't gay recruiting to any greater extent than the Mary Tyler Moore show was heterosexual recruiting. Gay pride parades aren't recruiting to any greater extent than Saint Patrick's Day parades are recruiting. leaglizing same sex marriage isn't recruiting to any greater extent than legalizing inter-racial or interfaith marriage was heterosexual recruiting.
But hey! Thanks for playing...
Yes, exactly. None of that is recruiting. Good job.
Does this poster think "gay marriage laws" means "forcing everyone to be get gay married" or something?
Confused?
