(In response to someone telling him that a circle is, in fact, a flat shape)
You don't get it smartass, do you? Dumbass atheist prick!

smartass? dumbass?
YOU DECIDE!
One who can't tell a sphere from a circle has no business calling anyone else a dumbass.
However, I do admit that I am an atheist and have a prick.
"You don't get it smartass, do you? Dumbass atheist prick!"
That's exactly what my old man said to me when I was seven and asked if the Tooth Fairy was real.
Oh, filmfans. He's a fucking fundie all over. He's trolled multiple videos, generally defending the stupid, and hating atheists with his ridiculous logic wherever he goes.
Being a "dumbass atheist prick" I can't remember the cliché I should use to reply to filmfans1961, but I think it had something to do with a pot, a kettle, and a reference to one of them being black...
What is it the dumbass atheist prick didn't get? That a circle isn't a sphere? The poor dumbass atheist prick probably didn't realize that a square isn't cube or a goat isn't a panda, either. How can a good, God-fearing, Bible-believing fundie hold an intelligent conversation with someone that dumb? [/sarcasm]
"But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne: Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King. Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil." (Mat. 5:34-37)
"But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment." (Mat. 12:36)
The quote this fundie was responding to was:
...... And a circle, like a square and a triangle, would be a FLAT object. Because they're 2D.
If they're 3D, they're a sphere, cube and pyramid, respectively.
Didn't they teach you basic shapes in school? o.O
It's not being smartass to make a correction like that. Confusing spherical with circular is confusing a ball with a circle, and that's no small failure in geometry. Calculating a ball volume uses a different equasion than calculating a circle voume, for example. If you were to make that confusion in a junior high school maths test, you would fail.
@Larty
"Calculating a ball volume uses a different equasion than calculating a circle voume, for example."
Yeah, specifically that a circle doesn't have volume o_0 I'm sure you mean area...
But in reference to the quote, I do get it. There is a Hebrew word that can mean either 'circle' or 'sphere', and that word was used in the book of Isaiah.
Of course, it was used in a completely different chapter to the one that talked about the shape of the earth; the word used in that verse is a lot less ambiguous.
Yes, a circle is quite decidedly 2-D. They teach you that in basic geometry. Yes, it's likely that this is a fundie, come to claim that the Bible knew the earth was spherical when it says it's a "circle."
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
