Sexual orientation is hard-wired into people. Now, I'm not going to presume to know if that hard-wiring is the result of genetic disposition, environmental influence, or a combination, since I'm not an expert in the field (although I strongly suspect that it is genetic), but I am going to voice the idea that you can't just arbitrarily rewire a person's sexual orientation through a simple choice.
Sure, you can change any behavior if you put enough indoctrination and coercion into it. Hell, there are hundreds of millions of women alive right now who have been convinced that they must cover their entire bodies with heavy fabric because if a man thinks lustful thoughts about her, then it's her fault. There are hundreds of millions of people alive right now who are convinced that if they do not subject themselves to some arbitrary religious authority figure, then they are going to be horibly tortured for all eternity when they die. In the 70's, Jim Jones convinced a few thousand people to drink poison Kool Aid, and within the next few decades, I fully expect Bro. Randy to do the same thing. If you can get people to believe that kind of shit, you can get them to believe anything.
But just because you can change someone's behavior, does that mean you should? How about when that behavior harms no one?
Now that guy who is now married and has 3 kids? Guess what? He's still gay, and will eventually either develop severe emotional problems stemming from his denial and self-loathing, or will fall "off the wagon," so to speak.
