I have never been possessed ; but from what I can figure ; Any time an individual has a nearly uncontrollable urge to do something or say something he normally wouldn't do if he or she were in their own right mind then they are possessed . And with today's easy access to alcohol and drugs ; and the do-as-you-please openly taught mind set conveyed to vulnerable adolescents probably 20-30% of every American between the ages of 17-30 are possessed to some degree . And the reason it isn't higher is that they die out before they reach 31 ; are taking medication to quite down their inner voices ; or , they are real good at keeping it from other people's attention . And the remedy for their problem is real simple . All they have to do is make the sincere covenant with God that they immediately will obey all of Jesus' teaching ( especially in Mat. 5:48 ) from now on .
