Bob Frey, a Michele Bachmann ally and Republican candidate for the Minnesota House of Representatives, wants public schools to teach students that humans and dinosaurs lived together.
Frey, who also has his own bizarre theory about HIV/AIDS, alleged in a 2004 appearance before the Minnesota State Senate Education Committee that the fossil record proves that “dinosaurs have always lived with man,” and such “real science” should be taught in public schools.
[...]
Bluestem Prairie also reports that Frey used to run a group called Creation Science Seminars, which claimed that teaching Creationism would reduce the rate of violence that the theory of evolution had apparently brought upon communities.

So, Bobby here wants schools to actively LIE to students? But it's the leftists that are the liars and cheats, right?
The descendants of dinosaurs (aka "birds") have indeed always lived with man, and real science (no scare-quotes) IS taught in public schools, (at least most of the time).
What violence has the theory of common ancestry brought upon communities? If anything, it ought to teach us to take care of all life, as we are are relatives, right?
Teaching that a petty, narcissistic, indecisive and abusive sky-bully created everything (without explaining how), then changed his mind and destroyed it all in the least effective way possible, just keeping a old drunkard and his family, and two or seven of each "kind", later to produce a son through child-rape for the purpose of executing him so that he can forgive mankind for how he created them, will somehow reduce violence? HOW?
Yes, because back before the Theory of Evolution existed and creationism was the only game in town there was never any war or crime. The French and English held hands and sang Kumbaya. The North and South couldn't bear to be separated.

Pictured: science.
"...the fossil record proves that “dinosaurs have always lived with man..."
Please provide evidence that the fossil record proves "dinosaurs have always lived with man".
"...the rate of violence that the theory of evolution had apparently brought upon communities."
Please provide evidence of this increased "rate of violence" that evolution has brought upon communities.
Please provide evidence that teaching "Creationism" will reduce this rate.
the fossil record proves that “dinosaurs have always lived with man,”
Let me guess... he's talking about the disproved Paluxy tracks, isn't he?
Dinosaurs Knuckle-draggers have always lived with man.
There. Now do you understand what an idiom is, and what people have been trying to tell you, Bob?
@ #1692473:
"Please provide evidence that the fossil record proves 'dinosaurs have always lived with man'."
They're called "birds" now. I doubt that's what he meant, though.
I can't imagine what his weird theories about AIDS/HIV are...probably homophobic weirdness or "goddiddit to punish gays/people who like sex".
Genesis Literalism Cranks always say, "Man did not come from a monkey! He came from DIRT!" as if the latter is somehow a better & more dignified alternative.
Meanwhile, most Christians can reconcile evolution with their Christian faith & take the story allegorically....the fact that this is the case is lost on frummies.
Methinks frummies impose their worldview on others because deep down, perhaps subconsciously, they know it's bogus but want to believe & don't want to be seen as the village idiot. If all society shared the frum's views, then frummie wouldn't feel like a mutant.

So that they'll be better prepared to fail in the world economy.
@Goomy pls
Just as I suspected! Anti-Gay nonsense. I'd love to see his explanation for female & non-gay AIDS sufferers!
Since this guy is the distaff Michelle Bachmann, does he have a wife who resembles a closeted butch lesbian stereotype?
What in the fuck happened to my home state? It's always been a bit off, but not like this. I've never been happier to have moved to Oregon then I am now.
Actually, now that I think about it, I think I know what Mr. Frey is getting at here...

@Goomy pls:
Is this the person who's planning to succeed Batscat Shelly?
Well, he has the bugfuck insanity down pat.
Will other versions of "real science" be given equal time, Bobby?
Frey used to run a group called Creation Science Seminars, which claimed that teaching Creationism would reduce the rate of violence that the theory of evolution had apparently brought upon communities.
That would prevent violence about as much as purity pledges prevent teen pregnancy.
@Insult to Rocks
Please do. I've been in Oregon for about a month, and it's a great place, especially Potland (no, not a typo ^_^). There are some other cities like Eugene and Salem too.
@Ebon:
Lying or insane?

:P
@Insult to Rocks
I also suggest New York.
So show us the evidence of human and large dinosaur remains fossilized together at the same level of the geologic column. Should be easy since they lived together, right? Should be countless examples since they lived together, right?
Well, that must mean that, before Darwin, there was no violence whatsoever, no British Empire, no child labor, no rioting on the streets, no spousal assault, no rape....
Bob, you really are a moron.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
