Even as the LGBT community expressed anger over the the Supreme Court ruling upholding Section 377 [which recriminalized gay sex after a Delhi High Court ruling had decriminalized it], yoga guru Ramdev welcomed the judgement saying it respects the sentiments of religious communities of India. He went on to say that this way people will talk having sex with animals too.
"The Supreme Court has respected the sentiments of the various religious communities of India. Today they are talking of homosexuality, tomorrow they will talk of having sex with animals," Ramdev said.
Calling homosexuality a disease, Ramdev said members of the LGBT community should visit him to get 'cured'. "Those who are suffering by this affliction, I request them to come to my yoga institute. They will get cured," Ramdev said.
Ramdev was one of the petitioners in the Supreme Court who challenged the Delhi High Court order scrapping Section 377.
