The core reason for a person's desire for someone of the same sex is that they hate God. So, he gave them over to their sinful desires.

No, homosexuality is the core reason for a person's desire for someone of the same sex.
Fundies seem obsessed with the idea of people hating God. Curious. I don't know of any atheists, or God-less liberals who hate God. Most of them consider God himself to be a largely irrelevant, fictional character, hardly something one needs to bother hating.
There are much better ones where that one came from, but most of them are too long or wouldn't make any sense out of the original context.
I can't find them, though, because I was just banned from their site. :D
But....but....according to you fundies, God is male. So if I, a male, desire another man, aren't I really just desiring a substitute for God? I'M HOMO FOR GOD!!!
So God makes people gay. Nice, huh? It's in Romans that I noticed this, but it's probably in other places too. He makes people gay... and then tries to bitchslap them for something HE did.
Yeh... because that make sense. "They have sinned, so I'm gonna make them sin some more! Oooh, let's make them gay... that'll be a laugh. Heehee!"
No. I refuse to believe a so-called loving god would do this.
If god exists, either he's a dictatorial tyrant who likes to torture us, OR the bible is wrong. That's how I see it.
Papabear makes a good point. Most atheists don't care one way or another about teh babble gawd, just like they don't care about Isis, Odin, or Kukulkan. That's VERY frightening to fundies, because if atheists hate their gawd, they at least acknowledge that he exists. Indifference is the death of gods.
Why is it that people who would characterize themselves as devoutly Christian and utterly straight are the ones who feel most qualified to define the thinking and/or motives of atheists and/or gays, especially when they get it wrong, as the atheists and gays are quite clear on the matter themselves?

"The core reason for a person's desire for someone of the same sex is that they hate God. So, he gave them over to their sinful desires."
Apart from the fact that this sentence essentially blames God for an individual's homosexuality, thereby absolving the individual (should they need absolving, which, in my opinion, they don't), it completely ignores the fact that there are thousands of devoutly religious homosexuals struggling with their faith in God and their sexuality.
"Hmmm ... when I, a heterosexual male, read the Book of Joshua, God sure seems like a real genocidal prick. I don't think I like that version of God. In fact, I hate it ..."
<A mighty rumbling rips through the room>
"OH MY WORD! I MUST HAVE SEX WITH ANOTHER MAN IMMEDIATELY!! "
Oh, I thought that he only sent brim and stone, plagues, tsunamis, floods.............well, and they were still heterosexual.
I'm a religious homosexual man. I don't hate your God, he's simply irrelevant to me.
Huh, just me or did I basically debunk YP's theory?
In the immortal words of Dr. Cox
WRONG, WRONG, WRONG, WRONG, YOU'RE WRONG, YOU"RE WRONG, YOU'RE WRONG!
Of course...I couldn't LOVE the other person...everything I do is to spite your god. Curses, you discovered my nefarious plans.
The sheer arrogance of these people.
Confused?
