You should be grateful to Christianity that we were able to restrain science before they destroyed us all.

The more he says, the more convinced I am that JohnR7 is either the most fearsomely dedicated troll I've ever known or utterly mad as a hatter. Of course, these options are not mutually exclusive, either.

Science, indeed, is responsible for the technology behind weapons. For the most part, though, the will to use them has been confined to religious people.
This is true, since the invention of the longbow until the present.
"I would love to see a Chick comic about Jesus fighting a bunch of scientists who were about to throw earth into the sun."
i don't know why, but that reminds me of this comic book called "loaded bible" about a future where there's a nuclear war following the discovery of vampires. the fundies build a city and clone jesus and he goes out and kills vampires and in on fight kills a vampire by spitting at him, "holy spit"
Feel free to go start a society that lives without science or its benefits, John. I'll support your decision. And when we've created an earthly paradise, and you're ekeing out an existing from a mud hole, I... well, I don't know what I'll be doing, but it won't involve you. And we'll both be happier that way.
Yeah, without your ludite asses holding us back for hundreds of years we might have cured all sorts of diseases,
Yes, but to do so, we might have used Stem Cells. And it says right there in the Bible, "Thou Shalt Not Do Stem Cell Research."
... Oh, wait, no it doesn't.
Destroy?, does it mean to have computers, use antibiotics or cars?, Yee-ha. I'm all for not restraining it.
So, I guess your car, tv, AC, computer, microwave, fridge, heater, toaster, toliet, alarm clock, and electric just popped out of no where?
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
