Steve Irwin's death was news again recently, after his cameraman said that his last words were, "I'm dying." The wildlife expert lived on the edge, and got his thrills by messing around with killer animals.
Another Australian (a 19 year-old) is on life support after he played Russian roulette, and lost. His mother posted on Facebook: “Come on son — please please fight like you always have — no words can explain how desperate we are for you to just hang on and fight.”
They took a chance with their lives because they thought that they could beat the odds. The world does that sort of thing daily. But you're a Christian. You know better than to take risks with the precious gift of life God has given you.
Or do you? Perhaps you're an Adrenalin junkie and need a fix. Okay. Here's one that will put you on the edge but probably won't put your life on the line.
Get a soapbox (a plastic milk crate will do). Go to your local university, stand on it, lift up your voice like a trumpet and ask if your hearers think there's an afterlife.
Then preach the gospel. Do you have the backbone to do that? I suspect that you don't. Prove me wrong.
Write in the comments that you want to do this, and if enough people are interested, I will post further details on what to do....feel the fear.

Am I the only one getting a "Kentucky Fried Movie/Rex Kramer, Danger Seeker" flashback from that?
Was that the guy who was killed by a crockoduck?

I thought you didn't care about life because you get to float around in the clouds and play a harp.
I work at my local university, one of the largest campuses in the country (45,000+ students). There are some of these soapbox shouters who show up every year. Students actually look forward to their appearance, as they're a great source of amusement. Never physical threats, just a lot of laughing and pointing out the logical fallacies in the preaching, but I'm sure the speakers consider it persecution.
The problem with sidewalk preaching at any university is that even the freshmen know more than you do, and have no trouble pointing it out to you.

WARNING: INTENSE FNAF GUSHING INCOMING. I DEEPLY APOLOGIZE. I REPEAT: INTENSE FNAF GUSHING.
Yeah, but that’s more straightforward. In FNAF the horror comes from the fact you’re only prolonging the inevitable, you’re facing a horrible and grisly death, and there’s barely anything you can do about it. It’s the atmosphere, the fact you’re THIS close to death, the fact no-one can help you, and you only have doors (in the first one), lights (in the second), and fucking SOUNDBITES (in the third) to defend you.
You’re doomed, all alone, stuck in a pizzeria with a bunch of murderous robots with dead children inside (or a murderer in the third), and you can’t go anywhere. THAT is the horror. And the hopeless feeling of it all leads to an enhanced sense of accomplishment.
The fact you beat all those vicious, deadly monsters with only a handful of tools and your own wits, all while stuck in the same spot, brings a much more satisfying feeling than the one you get after simply blowing the shit out of everything. You conquered the monsters not with weaponry, or by hiding in a corner, but with wits.
Ray, didn't you already demonstrate you're a dirty coward yourself?
What was that recent quote again? "He turned it over and to my horror began to read out loud the gospel message on the backdespite the fact that the text was printed in reverse to give me getaway time."
Yes, you have real backbone. *Sarcasm*
Steve Irwin messed with dangerous wild animals for years before being killed.
Some guy shot himself in the head and is still alive.
I'd say that those two did beat the odds.
Anyway, did you have some evidence that your god exists?
++"But you're a Christian. You know better than to take risks with the precious gift of life God has given you. "
Oh look. Once again Ray displays his no longer stunning ignorance of even his own religion. If god didn't want you risking your life then he wouldn't instruct you to do precisely that! . Furthermore, it's your own doctrine which states that this life is just a meager little flash in the pan before your real life starts. So what gives with the massive heresy of twisting and lying about the word of God, Ray? Isn't that one of the ultimate sins?
I'm starting to doubt that you were dropped as a child. At this point I'm pretty sure that you were actually thrown . Repeatedly.
Stop calling God cruel for handling evil people. No one was innocent even the children. Now for the children that does mean that they are judge after life. If He let the children live then who going to take care of them? They definitely don't won't someone who killed their parents to raise them, so it is better for them to be dead. What if the children was the enemy of the Hebrews? It is stupid to let them live. Some of them will grow up, and get revenge, on those who rightfully kill their evil parents. It better for the children to be put to death so they don't have to deal the Hebrew people. YHWH has every right to do so. Don't like too bad then. YHWH doesn't care what you don't like or like what he does, or weather you disagree or agree on how He handle things.
Sweetride, you've copypasted the exact same comment on several threads, even ones where it doesn't apply. I enjoy when fundamentalists come here, I really do. Snarking at a quote by someone who won't visit here is just....... empty. If you aren't going to discuss, then kindly leave. I will tolerate a disagreement with you, but I am less so when it comes to people who only wish to preach.
tfaddict: That's cool. Get me started about Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Doom 3 or the Fallout series and I'm the same damn way.
Like, I can relate. :o)
Memo to me: Check out FNAF!
Literally happening every fucking day. Not brave just obtuse. And in America? Really? Preaching Christianity amongst the Choir is brave now?
Maybe to Ray, who left a country with a low Christian percentage to go to the largest Christian country in the world because,,, he's,,,, brave?
And Colleges,,,Ohhhh MY! SO SCARY because someone there may >gasp< question unsupported bullshit.
Pul- fuckinlease. Even those that have cast off the stupidity of their parents religion were raised to not speak against it and simply accept the faithfuls convictions. Lame as they are. I believe 60% percent of Bible Belters believe in Alien Abductions, dissing that could be trouble too.
If you're a Christian and you believe that you're going to spend eternity in paradise after you die, then why not take risks? Isn't everything God's will anyway? So if he wants you to "come home," he'll allow you to die. If it's not your time, then you'll live.
Confused?
