This came up in the thread about solar theory, but I figured I'd bring it up here because I don't know how many people are reading it five pages in. Does anyone else here reject the idea that the Earth orbits the sun? The Bible is pretty clear that the Earth is fixed and immobile, and it's the sun that moves, and I'm surprised how many Christians are willing to reject the Bible for science.

And I'm disgusted, but not surprised, how many so-called Christians (i.e., fundies) are willing to reject reality for biblical bull crap.
"I'm surprised how many Christians are willing to reject the Bible for science."
Says the retard using a computer to post on the internet, both of which were created by science, not the bible.
Yes, all the evidence shows the earth orbiting the sun, but, the big book of ancient fairy tales says otherwise so it must be otherwise.
P.S. What "solar theory?" You do believe there IS a sun, right?
"Just remember that you're standing on a planet that's evolving
And revolving at nine hundred miles an hour.
Thats orbiting at nineteen miles a second, so it's reckoned,
A sun that is the source of all our power.
The sun, and you and me, and all the stars that we can see,
Are moving at a million miles a day,
In an outer spiral arm, at forty thousand miles an hour,
Of a galaxy we call the Milky Way."
Python, providing more imformation in seconds then the churchs have in their entire existance.
Mathematically, you can describe the apparent motion of the sun, moon and planets using any origin you like, including one at the center of the earth. What you can't do is to reconcile that motion simply with the Law of Gravity.
Come on, people. Everyone knows that the sun is the physical manifestation of the god Tonatiuh, the Fifth Sun, who demands the sacrifice of thousands each year in order to continue moving. It's common sense! I can't believe how so many "rational" people reject this obvious truth based on such things as "science" and "evidence".

If it wasn't for CabVet I would have pulled my hair out because of the stupidity.
I didn't think it was possible, but CleaverScreenName is right, they're getting stupider.
Excuse me while I go add this to my list of reasons why I'm not a Christian any more.
I'm thinking Poe, because he's too well spoken to be a geocentrist (how many quotes on here lack any spelling or punctuation errors?), and that last line could easily have been intended as a snide comment on rejection of evolution. Also, the author apparently has only nine posts; Poes rarely last too long.

Sounds like AV1611VET. For added fun, search FSTDT for some of his quotes. Don't hold me responsible if you go bald, though.
Confused?
