*Cracks knuckles* You know Davey-boy, I didn't mind you whining about how evil the Fresh Prince or Star Trek was. It was kinda equal parts funny and sad. But you just dissed Firefly. And for that sir, I'm going to have to smack you around a bit.
Let's see, you claim that the show glorifies adultery? The problem there Steward is that when you spout bullshit people are going to call you on it. Glorifying adultery would require one of the heroes do it. Given that the only married members of the heroes are Wash and Zoe and the only time either of them is being seduced, namely Wash by Saffron, he unequivocally refuses. Therefore Davey, you're talking out your ass. Again.
Promoting feminism? Totally true. And that's a good thing. Despite what raving lunatics like you seem to think, feminism simply advocates gender equality. Unfortunately there are redfems who seem to enjoy living down to the worst sterotypes of feminism. But gender equality is just the same as any other form of equality. And equality is an inherently good thing.
I'm going to just skip over the rest of your little rant about what Firefly allegedly glorifies as it's just more general fundie wharrgarbl.
Now onto the meat of the matter, the episode "Heart of Gold" that you use to decry Firefly. What you are conveniently forgetting here is that Rance Burgess was not a good man. He was in no particular order, a rapist, a murderer and a petty egomanical tyrant who kept everyone else on that moon poor so he could play at being a "cowboy in his own gorram theme park." He was not some poor little guy being oppressed by the mean whores, but instead was a man who got a prostitute pregnant and then decided, without any consent from the mother, that he was going take the child away from the child's mother. If you think that "father's rights" gives you permission to run roughshod over women and do what you want to them, then you are even more of a disgrace to our gender than I thought you were.
Then you claim that the men of the crew agree to help in exchange for sex and that various sex scenes are shown. Once again Davey-boy, the problem with lying about a subject is that sooner or later people who know something about the subject will call you on it. The only member of Serenity's crew that is motivated by the offer of sex is Jayne and Jayne is not exactly what one would call a beacon of morality. And the only shown sex scene is between Mal and the brothel madam who he falls for and is hardly gratuitous.
tl;dr Steward talks more bullshit and whines about how anything fun is evil. Nothing new here.
@ Kuno - Damnit you beat me to it.
One final thing. If anyone here hasn't seen Firefly, I wholeheartedly recommend watching it. It really is one of the finest sci-fi series ever. And if nothing else it will annoy DJS which is reason enough.
