“You have rejected the notion of having a Savior who loves you.”
But I haven’t rejected the NOTION. It’s a lovely NOTION. Of course, can’t ignore that the Savior is required only because the Savior is going to punish us unless the Savior talks the Savior into forgiving us for a distant ancestor breaking the Savior’s rules. That’s kinda crazy. But the NOTION of being lived is cool.
“You have rejected the notion that you will die a sinner in the Lake of Fire for eternity unless you admit you have sinned to God and repent.”
Well, yes. I mean, that’s a weird notion, innit? Punishment, down here, is a process with the goal of preventing future transgressions. Either the punished person learns a lesson, or the witnesses to the punishment learn a slightly differen t lesson.
We can’t see anyone in Hell, and there’s no end, no future opportunity to show we learned our lesson.
So it’s just petty revenge. Doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.
“The door stands ready to receive you, Jesus wants to hug you and call you a Son of God.”
And, see, i hold the door open for all of my kids. And my other family. No matter what they do to me or to each other. Even if one developed a drug problem and perpetrated crimes against the family, i might eventually cast them out, but i sure would never throw them in a furnace.
"Accept or turn away, your only options. But, don’t say you were not warned.”
I can say that the warning seems to describe a petty, petulant, unimaginative, asshat, who allegedly knows exactly why i disbelieve in the bullshit system, and also knows exactly what it would take to get me to accept it. And does nothing at all with that information.
