A Donald Trump supporter reportedly armed with a gun barged into a Texas library in an attempt to stop a drag queen reading books to children.

James Greene was arrested on suspicion of trespassing after refusing to leave Houston’s Freed-Montrose Library, but claimed he was detained for being a "white Christian" and accused staff of satanism.

He had entered the building to protest against Drag Queen Storytime, a programme of events in which performers read children’s stories to families.

The conservative radio host has previously been banned from the library for filming children during similar demonstrations.

Footage filmed by Mr Greene and posted on YouTube shows him remonstrating with police officers as they ask him to leave the building. Another clip shows him being handcuffed in the libary’s car park.

“We have a bunch of homosexuals that are molesting children,” he is heard telling officers. “They are doing it with your help.”

Outsmart, a Houston LGBTQ magazine, reported that officers took a concealed firearm off Mr Greene as they detained him.

And he went and recorded the entire arrest (wasn't it nice of the cops to let him film the whole thing and not stop him like they usually do in these situations?), and is now pimping it around the RWNJ news sites as "proof of how society is anti-Christian" and "Christian persecution"

This inbred tard clearly following the Timmy Robbingscum playbook. When he was cuffed & stuffed outside a court recording those going in & out of such, the police gave him the standard spiel 'You are under arrest. You do not have to say anything, but it may harm your defence if you do not mention, when questioned, something which you later rely on in court. Anything you say may be given in evidence. Do you understand?'

Well, what he didn't understand about why they arrested him: and where, was what he did as well: and he was already on a suspended sentence for a previous crime, thus he went to prison for that later illegal act.

HEY GUYS; I WANTED TO TALK ABOUT SOMETHING. I'D THOUGHT I'D WRITE IT HERE SO EVERYONE CAN SEE AND THE FSTDT FORUM IS FILLED WITH JERKS (UNLIKE HERE, ON THE MAIN SITE WHERE EVERYONE IS AWESOME)....

I have seen all this big rise in hate groups and conspiracy theories and oft-disheartened by the mediocre attempts to combat it.

I just have to suggest something....why not copy the hater's tactics?

Really! Where are all the cool anti-hate answers to Hate Sites, Hate Propaganda, Hate Groups, etc? Where are the funky clubs and subcultures? Why isn't there an anti-hate answer to NeoNazis, the Klan, etc?

Likewise; Where are the megachurches and big flashy evangelists who preach Progressive religiosity?

Where is the anti-Alex Jones? Where are the folks addressing the malaise that makes people susceptible to getting sucked-in to these kooky worldviews?

People join hate groups, terrorist groups, etc. because they feel alone, powerless and have a need to "belong". They need a club and something to believe in and they can't cope with uncertainty.

Finally; There needs to be a huge effort to educate the world about Islam so there is less Islamophobia. Islam is a huge mystery to non-Muslims and any argument from Islamophobes needs an answer. Difficult subjects like the more aggressive Qur'an verses, the "abrogation" clause (which is likely not a universal concept and perhaps very misinterpreted), nine-year-old Aisha, etc. need to be explained and addressed so both IslamoFascists and Islamophobes have less wind in their sails.

The SPLC and such isn't enough. Time to copy the hater's shtick and SUBVERT IT!

We need a real Alt-Left! We also need to accept that people respond better to "flashiness" and easy sound-bites.

What appears to be unity among such groups is just conditioning blind aggression that spurs unthinking responses and avoidance of deep issues by distracting with and overfocusing on superficial details. Nothing constructive comes of it. If anyone starts thinking for themselves the model falls apart, even trying to vocalize the particulars of their designated targets of hatred tends to wind up breaking that sense of common agreement down. It's why empty slogans and memes work so well with them but don't appeal to the kind of people you're hoping to unite. If the problem you're trying to solve is that people don't think about what they're saying and doing it will be impossible to draw them in that way and even if you pulled it off going from blind follower to self-aware would come with realizing you'd been manipulated at the start which breeds resentment and suspicion. Even reasonable people rarely let that sort of thing go. It's unfortunately and counter-intuitively much more difficult to get intelligent and reasonable people to work together than it is to abuse the more primitive pack mentality.

As the Salt-right are tearing each other apart: and in the Trump-voting heartland even a woman who'd previously voted for him said in a report on Sky News 'If he wants that wall, he should build the damn thing himself!', thus proof there's differences of opinion among his base, all we have to do is just watch the traincrash: and since the Democrats taking the House - certainly how Donald Fart's poll rating tanked as a result of that shutdown, and he blinked first - there are no brakes on that disaster.

The likes of the OP are simply the fuel for such, and all we have to do is watch the obliteration: and not just the OP's Fuhrer in 'Downfall' mode. Pass the popcorn.

On a related note, on Oprah Winfrey's programme: the Book Club section, many times the question was asked re. how to join such. Well, as for a proper Alt-Left, the answer's the same:

I have ADHD and...while I'm perfectly capable of grasping complex things, I only can "get it" when explained in layperson's terms, analogues and metaphors.

The other person sounds like a scholarly essay and went over my head.

Well; I'm glad wingnuts are falling apart....hopefully, it'll spread to the rest of the planet. A progressive U.S.A would be a great start. We do tend to influence the planet a lot in many ways (good & bad).

Time to be what we're supposed to be about....immigrants and a refuge for refugees. Latin-Americans, Syrians, Iraqis, the Rohingya of Myanmar (facing monstrous genocide and pogroms over there), etc.

Time to be the land of freedom, refuge and new opportunities for all.

Last time I checked, reading to kids does not count as molestation, but filming children without their parents' consent DOES count as possible harassment, at least.

We have a movement here in Sweden (probably exists elsewhere too) on Facebook (possibly Twitter too) that is called "#jagärhär" (Swedish for "#Iamhere"). If someone encounters hate-speech, they use the hashtag and immediately others from the group rally to respond against the hate-speech. I was involved for a while, but sadly someone thought I wasn't anti-hate in exactly the right way, so s/he decided to educate me (using Master suppression techniques) instead of dealing with the hatred. Apparently me not being down with EVERY SINGLE left-wing philosopher, or whatever it was (don't really remember), was more important than fighting hate crimes. That kinda put me off that group... But my husband is still in it.

My husband, being a man and all and not subjected to a torrent of misogyny as soon as he dares write something, hangs on a lot of sites where white supremacists and alt-rightists hang. He use simple things like "what did you mean by that?", "in what way was that funny?", "we don't have the death penalty in Sweden" and "why are you so angry?". It might not stopp that person, but it might make other people think.

There is a person in eastern europe who amuses himself by creating rumors that will
dogwhistle conservatives and releasing them on the internet, and watching the teabaggers lose their minds over it. He tried doing that with liberals but got a very unentertaining response. They fact check it, discover it isn't true, and it goes nowhere.

This is why your idea won't work.
