Christianity isn't a religion, it's a massive multi-million person relationship with an invisible supernatural being for which there is absolutely no basis for believing in; who we give prayers to and gather as groups to worship.

The whole 'Christianity is not a religion, it's having a personal relationship with GOD!' thing still bamboozles me... And then they turn around and say 'atheism/secular humanism' is a religion.

If you think that Christianity is a "personal relationship" with Jesus Christ rather than a religion, you not only qualify as schizophrenic, but, considering that a few billion people have also had said relationship, Jesus may qualify, due to this definition, as a man-whore.

Not just on CF; not just on FSTDT; not just on the internet or said by a fundie. That statement is a special kind of stupid, a kind that transcends stupid and reaches...well, whatever is above stupid. This has suddenly given me an idea for shirts/mugs/bumper stickers reading "My atheism isn't a religion, it's a personal relationship with reality!"

The original intentions of Christianity are for it to be a relationship with God, and especially for Christians who look at religious "Christians" and go "Oh my God, shut up and stop making me look bad" it's supposed to reverse stereotypes.

To the extent that quite a few Christians seem to be somewhat less than religious. i.e. Hateful, judgmental, hypocritical and completely impervious to the message of love and charity expounded by their faith's central figure, I can well believe this
