So the people who brought slavery to an end, the Tea Partiers, evangelicals; they are the ones; that's the type of American that brought slavery to an end.
The Boston Tea Party was a tax revolt, and as such had nothing whatsoever to do with the abolishment of slavery. As for evangelicals... Yes, there were many evangelical involved in the abolitionist movement, but to claim it was an exclusively evangelical movement is simply not true on many, many different levels. The abolitionist movement involed people of different races, differant geography, and different religious beliefs including none at all.
Why? Because we rejected Sharia law and its legitimization of slavery
Give me a fucking break! Slavery in the americas was never about Sharia law, nor was the abolitionist movement about the rejection of sharia law. Moreover, Islam is hardly the only religion to legitimize slavery, a fact you would be well aware of had you ever bothered to read your own "holy" book.
and we said, "look. uh, slavery, the slave trade is wrong. It is pernicious. It's wicked. It's evil for people to be bought and sold like that; like chattel. It's a horrible offense against God and against His law."
The only time slavery is denounced in the bible it refers explicitly to enslaving other israelites for periods longer than 7 years and then proceeds to outline a loophole for that caveat too.
So by all means, tll me where in your bible that you find a clear and unambigous stateent on the subject of slavery that even slightly resembles the reasons you outlined above.
It was evangelical Christians that led the drive to abolish slavery. Don't ever forget that.
Someting else you'd do well to not forget, For every evangelical who denounced and fought against slavery there was, at a bare minimum, another one that used the bible as the justification of slavery.
