Matthew is shortened to Matt. David is shortened to Dave. Peter is shortened to Pete. So, by that reasoning, if you were to shorten Vignesh, wouldn't it be Vig? And how is Vicky a christian name? I've studied the lives of the Saints, and I don't recall ever reading about anyone named Vicky.
So like Barack Hussein Obama, you're trying to hide the fact that you're really not a Christian, Vignesh. I'll bet you were born in India and are in the US illegally. Let's see your birth certificate (no, not that one, the real one - the one with the seal in blood). [/sarcasm]
BTW, Vicky is short for Victoria, which is the name of a Roman goddess. So you're out of the Hindu frying pan and into the pagan fire.
I think you mean the Hindu god Vishnu.
His earthly son, Krishna, by the way
is the same birth story as the birth of Jesus, word for word
and is about 600 years older than the Christ story.
Just thought I'd mention it.
This is so sad on so many levels.
I checked the thread. It kills me; the other users tried to help by giving him more masculine variants, but there was not one person saying, "Hey, your given name is fine. You're Indian, and it's okay for you to have an Indian name." I guess I shouldn't have expected different, but their attitudes are all awfully douchey anyway.

Darn! Beaten to it!
Meh'd
Its her name. She can do what she likes with it. I may not agree with her reason, but it doesn't effect me one way or the other.
Another example of a FSTDT post which seems to have gotten here only because it mentions a god or a religion.
Confused?
