DNA is all a scam.
They say that DNA from blood samples can prove who people are, but blood doesn't even HAVE DNA!

Why is it that people who know so little about basic biology are so able to keep talking, even when they've stuck their feet so far into their mouths, as in this case?
How can someone who doesn't even have the first clue about something so basic as the composition of blood something that most first-year biology students learn feel so confident in themselves that they continually offer what they think are compelling arguments against scientific principles discovered by people who actually do know what they're talking about? Don't they get tired of being wrong all the time?
Dr Carico speaks again. Listen dear, DNA is in all the cells of your body and can be extracted through blood or saliva or the tip of the hair..........Do you know why?, because cells must be instructed, grosso modo, how to form a person, the same way workers need instructions to build a house.
Actually, _red_ blood cells don't have DNA. They're basically specialized to the point where all they are is big bags of hemoglobin.
But as has been pointed out, _white_ blood cells do have DNA. So do cells from various other bodily fluids.

OK, this is stupid even by Cairco standards. Seriously, I am begining to suspect that Cairco is the most dedicated, skillful, patient troll that has ever existed in the history of the internet.
As has been pointed out, there is no DNA in red blood cells. However, that is not the only sort of cell found in actual blood - there's also white blood cells, which DO contain DNA. That's what's tested for DNA when a blood sample is taken.
Of course, Carico jumps on one fact and ignores the rest of them.
Except, you know, we can collect and SEE IT with the naked eye in large enough amounts, chemically, microscopically, etc.
Yeah, I'm thinking troll. I'm hoping troll...
About the only scientific tit-bit that hasn't been mentioned here and should be is yes, most DNA samples are taken by swabbing the mouth, because the mouth has a very rich concentration of T-cells supplied to fight oral sources of contamination. Needless to say T-cells are found in blood and distributed round the body by blood as well as the lymphatic system!
This isn't really THAT stupid as some of you are claiming (who probably don't know that the majority of blood cells DON'T have DNA). It's more like an example of "a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing." He takes one piece of scientific knowledge (red blood cells don't have DNA) and makes some absurd statement with it to backup some other nonsense belief he has. That's standard procedure for fundies.
In fact, that's a perfect award: A Little Knowledge Can be a Dangerous Thing Award nomination.
Using Kolmogorov's zero-one law, we know an infinite number of monkeys given infinite resources including time could unwittingly duplicate every work ever written by man - the question must be asked though, "Could any of them write anything stupider than what Carico churns out every day?"
This statement should be a prerequisite read if you are going to read any other Carico posts. This is simply because not only is Carico wrong, Carico is DEAD WRONG. If you have any doubts about how dumb a person can be, just read this, and you're good.
Blood PLASMA doesn't have DNA, red blood cells also lack nuclei and thus DNA, but white blood cells do have DNA.
And thus, Carico is wrong.
Yeah, that's actually true.
Now, what other cells are also in a blood sample? You know, besides red blood cells?
"...but blood doesn't even HAVE DNA!"
I'm sure this revelation will come as a complete shock to my husband, who is a microbiologist.
Dullard fundie asshole.
I would seriously rather die than be this stupid. Hell, if I was this stupid, I'd end up finding a way to fulfill that wish.
Don't get me wrong, I like living and would love to do it for about 60 more years (26 currently), but yeah.
Once again, this statement is not overtly fundie.
What it is, is very, VERY stupid.
Yes.
It.
DOES!!!
Seriously, every fucking square inch of organic tissue, every drop of organic fluid produced by the human body contains trillions of strands of deoxyribonucleic acid uniquely configured to that organism.
Fuck, this isn't just stupid, this is stand-in-the-train-tracks retarded!
In the art of logical arguing, there is the often used "Argument from Authority". Often, this is a fallacy, but it can be a valid method of arguing in the special case where the authority is a believable expert on the topic. For example, to quote Albert Einstein on questions of General Relativity is usually a valid method of making a point.
For the case of "Carico", I propose to introduce the equivalent "Argument from Anti-Authority", because "Carico" is a believable anti-expert on any topic. It would go like this:
a) "Carico" makes a statement.
b) All statements of "Carico" so far have been complete utter nonsense, without exception.
c) Ergo: The statement is complete utter nonsense.
Does your body consist entirely of blood? No. It also consists of mucus, stomach acid, and (might want to get the kids out for this one) semen. And that's still not the whole story! (I would tell it to you but you're too stupid)
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
