[Difference between Christians and atheists?]
The difference being; in contrast with agnosticism and atheism - is that a Christian would care about the 'relationship' with God- their destiny, the state of the soul, the body, personal hygiene and other things.

What does personal hygiene have to do with God, destiny or the soul??? Kerazy!
Up until the Reformation, Christians were by far the worst offenders in the Western world when it came to hygiene. Lack of cleanliness was so pervasive that if you were clean, like the Jews, it was suspicious.
Personal hygiene? As an atheist, I'm personally offended by that...hah, just kidding, you're a fucking moron!
So, an inmaterial being cares of what we do with our material frame(more than the fleshy humans around, WTF?)?, that atheist are slobs or that Christians are neat by definition?. Moreover, haven't you thought that the key difference is that atheist don't believe in the god they're supposed to have a relationship with?, because, the sticky question, how can you have such a earthly relationship with an entity you can't make material things with?
Excuse me, but, us atheists DO care about our "personal hygiene and other things."
I do not care a whit about a relationship with a fictional God. Destiny and the soul, in the supernatural sense, are also non-existent. I am not of the body, Landrew.
Er.
If we are to define an atheist as somebody who believes only in what exists on the material plane, without believing in spiritual stuff like the soul, then an atheist is more likely to practice good personal hygiene and keep his body in check than someone who believes that the body is just a temporary shell for his spiritual essence. You twat.
Well it is true that the American bible belt is famous for it's well toned, well groomed, supermodelesque beautiful people. Nothin' like spending all day in your trailer sitting on the couch you found by the side of a highway, eating Cheetos and watching the God channel to make you beautiful.
Destiny: Exists, but is impossible to calculate
Soul: Does not exist
Body and Personal Hygiene: Atheists also take care of.
I don't think that one guy smells like ass all the time because he's a Christian. It's just a side effect of being a douchebag.
Of course Christians would care about God more than atheists.
There is no such thing as destiny (at least none that we can say anything about with confidence).
There is no such thing as a soul.
And since when SHOULD Christians care about the body and hygiene, given the fact that they are spiritual beings destined for much greater things beyond the petty physical world we live in?
It makes no sense, yet you keep talking.
Most saints were renowned for their lack of personal hygiene, not because of it. I'm pretty sure the more lice you had in ancient and medieval times the more holy you were considered by the Christian community. For example:
'He who has bathed in Christ does not need a second bath.' St Jerome.
'A clean body and clean clothes betoken an unclean mind.' Asthetic Paula, 4th century Xian zealot.
Shaving is ''... a lie against our own faces, and an impious attempt to improve the works of the creator.' Tertullian.
When killed Thomas a Becket was wearing a 'large brown mantle over a white surplice, over a lamb's wool fur coat, over a woollen pelisse, over a Benedictine habit, over a shirt, over a tight-fitting hair-cloth suit. All those were infested with fleas, bugs and lice, so many that the garments seemed to be moving." This was regarded as a sign of his great holiness.
I've read that the early Christian belief that bodily filth was a sign of spiritual purity grew out of a desire to close the Roman bath-houses, which they saw as pagan and depraved. I can see a lot of sense in that explanation.
I care about my hygiene, and other things. Does that mean I'm a Christian, despite my not believing in any god? NO. So don't list things anyone would care about in your post.
To everyone else here: There's no WAY we can care about personal hygiene and still be athiest! Cleanliness is next to godliness, remember? :P
Your personal relationship with god is NOT an excuse to spend an inordinate amount of time "cleaning" your funny bits. Of course, as an agnostic, I need no excuse to spend however much time I wish "down there." :p
because of course, as everyone knows, atheists dont bathe.
its against our religion, and Darwin, our god, has expressly forbidden it.
Dirty agnostics, dirty atheists!
Oh wait. I had two showers today. I must be becoming a Christian. AAAAAAArrrrrrrgh!
One thing makes you a christian: you believe that Jebus died on the cross so that you may take the escalator ride when you die. Period. The points listed do not make a person a christian. Almost every non-christian religion can be described in that way. Minus the personal hygiene bit, that is. What the hell?
Christians are dumbing themselves down so much that they don't even remember what it is they are supposed to believe.
"other things" = stamping out the rights of and discriminating against all others not christian. Kind of glossed over that one, didn't he?
"their destiny, the state of the soul, the body, personal hygiene and other things"
Wait, so being an agnostic atheist gives me license to run around without washing my hair or putting on deoderant. Ick.
I've seen many more Christians with bad hygiene that I have atheists, thank you. :3
