We have no knowledge of how thought processes work, how they are perceived or where they originate from in scientific terms. If you are demanding a scientific explanation of what drives our thought processes you will not find one. The closest I can get to answering your question is to point to the quantum events occurring in your brain which have no discernible cause, as this could be the gateway for spiritual interaction, be it from your own soul, or the wilful temptation of Satan.

Yes we do, you just don't like the answer because it does not require a soul.
"point to the quantum events occurring in your brain which have no discernible cause"
In other words; I don't know so I'll use the word quantum to make it look like I'm smart and to prevent anyone from arguing with me when I insert my favorite fantasy in there.
Quantum events are not required to explain consciousness or thoughts.
Actually, we do have an explanation for how the brain works: it works via electrochemical signals. Now, which bits of the brain do what things is less well understood, but scientists are working on unraveling this mystery too.
Uh, yes we do. It's neither remotely new information nor are the basics particularly complicated as such things go. You might as well assert that we don't know how rain works or where it comes from. Then again, your dumb ass probably chooses to stick with the ancient idea that it pours down from the magic space ocean via windows in the giant glass dome covering the planet.

Neurology fail.

No idea how thought processes work eh....
Sit down, I've got some bad news.
Thought processes are caused by synaptic firing caused as a result of electrochemical gradients and unequal positive and negative charges between the inner part of the neuron which has Ca2+ ions and the outer area which has high amounts of K ions and K ions. The gradient is recognised, and a calcium pump opens, ca floods in making the neuron electronegative, then further calcium channels open once -75mv is reached. K ions and flood in and calcium leaves, then finally a final calcium pump opens to restore the status quo. This happens until neurotransmitters are released via exocytosis at the synaptic cleft and are then absorbed by the post synaptic bulb.
You need to re check your science books mate!
We do have a lot of different imaging techniques that can trace activity in the brain, so we do have some knowledge of how thought processes work and where they originate from.
So, no willful interaction from any gods, then?
What we don't have is any knowledge of the soul, whether it exists, or, if it exists, how it works.
We can correlate brain activity to thoughts, sounds and images now.
It's even possible to reconstruct an image or a sound from brain activity scans now.
There's nothing magical or supernatural about "thought." Your mind is an evanescent web of electrochemical activity, and consciousness is an emergent phenomenon.
We have no knowledge of how freezing processes work, how they are perceived or where they originate from in scientific terms. If you are demanding a scientific explanation of what drives our freezing processes you will not find one. The closest I can get to answering your question is to point to the quantum events occurring in the water which have no discernible cause, as this could be the gateway for spiritual interaction, be it from its own memory, or the wilful spite of the Jötnar.

I think I'll just stop reading here.
In scientific terms, there are neurons and synapses and electrical impulses for the mechanisms, but "thought" is a complicated thing with which you have only a passing acquaintance. Now stop using the word "quantum" improperly or I will have to beat you with the "willful temptation of Satan" stick.

This is what is called "Quantum woo".
Want to bring out Quantum Mechanics/Chromo dynamics/Electro Dynamics, I have one simple request: "Show me the math!" I happen to be well versed in the topic and have the ability to read any math you may provide and determine if it holds water so show us the math!
Congnitive Psychology, for one. Physiology for two. Behavioral Psychology. Social Psychology. Industrial Psychology.
Seems you need to continue your education.
"We have no knowledge of how thought processes work..."
Perhaps not but we're working on it.

Once upon a time we had no knowledge of how disease worked either. To paraphrase Richard Dawkins, the biggest crime of religion is that it says it's OK to be ignorant.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
