Actually, if anyone could ever provide me with clinching and undeniable proof of a god or gods I'd buy into the scheme. My disbelief stems from the fact that no one has done this, no one is capable of doing this, and in fact, I have been told that to ask for proof is a sin in and of itself.

Oh, I'm open to the possibility I'm wrong. I just don't consider allegory, popular opinion and logical fallacies as real evidence.

Yes, the idiocy in this is annoying, but I can't help being irritated by the incorrect use of the stutter here. You don't pronounce the "w" in the word "wrong," so it wouldn't be the stuttered sound.

Honestly? Most people aren't. It's not at all exclusive to atheists. Actually, since atheists usually like to think rationally and scientifically, and science is always being revised to get a better understanding of the truth, atheists are probably MORE likely to accept that their previous ideas were wrong than any other group. It's just that fundies like to say "You're wrong" without any solid evidence, and it's not very convincing.
