Every atheist I have ever known is an atheist for precisely one reason: the belief in God is inconvenient if you want to sin. They don't stop believing in God because of God, they stop believing because God represents an obstacle to their pleasures of the flesh. This is why almost any atheist has broken at least 5 commandments. Atheist is just another word for sinner.

I hate to break it to you but it would appear that the belief in a god is no deterrent to "sin" either. Not to mention the fact that atheists don't believe "sin" exists any more than your deity so the point is irrelevant.

Or they never believed in the first place. Or they don't believe any longer because they realized just how bizarre, contradictory and nonsensical the entire thing is. Or maybe they don't believe because your bullshit religion doesn't agree with reality and for most people reality trumps superstitious bullshit.

Then you haven't known many atheists. There are many reasons why someone wouldn't have faith.

Yet, every day, true believers find ways to sin. How does that make them better than atheists?

You know, I'm sure that's not quite true...

1: No God before YHWH... well, Atheists don't believe in gods, so they CAN'T have a god before YHWH. Commandment unbroken.

2: No Idols... well, an Idol is something you worship as a God. Since Atheists don't believe in Gods, they can't have Idols. Commandment unbroken.

3: No taking the Lords name in Vain. This one is refering to swearing oaths in YHWH's name, then breaking that oath. As such, since Atheists are pretty damned unlikely to swear an oath in the name of a god they don't believe in, they aren't going to break that commandment. Commandment unbroken.

4: Keep the Sabbath holy. According to the Torah, where this came from, keeping the sabbath holy meant to have 3 festive meals, study the Torah and engage in pleasurable activities... no working though. Guess what? Most people don't work on the Sabbath, so... Commandment unbroken.

5: Honour your parents. According to the Torah, that simply means "treat them well" Some will, some won't... so Commandment iffy.

6: No Murder... Since the vast majority of people don't murder, and since if it was only Atheists doing it, it'd still only be a small fraction of them... Commandment mainly unbroken. (please note... all those people caught who like to claim God told them to do it... that's not Atheist, is it?)

7: No Adultery... Torah says that's sex between a man and a women who is married to someone other than him. As a result, most Atheists haven't broken it.

8: Do not steal... Interestingly, according to the Torah, traditionally this simply means "Don't fucking kidnap people!" 'Nuff said. Commandment unbroken.

9: Don't covet... well, if I see a nice car and think "I like that, I want one just like it" I'm not covetting... and since that's usually how it goes, Commandment unbroken.

10: Don't seeth a kid in it's mothers milk... Well fuck, no-one does that, so... Commandment unbroken.

Wait... that's ALL of them unbroken by most Atheists. Asthore, you lied to us!

Let's see:

I worship no gods, period, so... no.

"TWO: 'You shall not make for yourself a carved image--any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.'"
Meaning idol worship? Nope.

"THREE: 'You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.'"

I tend not to use "God" as a casual exclamation, but I think I've used it once or twice, so if you count that as the name, probably. Given that the Biblical God is named "Yaweh," though? It depends on how you define "vain." We'll go with "yes," just to be safe, so that's one so far.

"FOUR: 'Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.'"
Yeah, that's not happening. Two.

"FIVE: 'Honor your father and your mother.'"
Three.

"SIX: 'You shall not murder.'"
Still three.

"SEVEN: 'You shall not commit adultery.'"
Still three.

"EIGHT: 'You shall not steal.'"
Intentionally? No. "Oh crap I totally forgot I had that when I left?" Yeah. We'll go with four.

"NINE: 'You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.'"
Still four.

Ah... five, then.

So, going by very liberal definitions of the Commandments? Yes, I've broken five. Chances are, you've broken more.

something tells me you haven't known very many atheists, or at least, that you haven't known very many people that bothered to tell you that they were atheists.

Also, I never believed in the first place, for the simple reason that your religion makes no sense, and neither do any of the others, except maybe Buddhism, depending on which sect of Buddhism we're talking about.

And I think I've only broken like 3 of your commandments, maybe 4 if squishing bugs counts as "killing" I don't think it does though. I haven't broken the first or the second, because I don't believe in any gods at all and thus can't have any gods "before" your imaginary friend, and I don't worship anything, graven images included.

I don't care about the Sabbath, I've stolen a few little thingies from my brother just to annoy him, and yeah, I say Jesus Christ on a Popsicle stick, although I try not to since I don't believe in him, so it's silly to swear by him.

So yeah, 3.
