We have no need to "keep you away" from a non-existent deity. We don't care what you do with religion in your private moments. But, like certain intimate body parts, it isn't NICE to take it out and wave it in someone else's face.
Atheists don't grovel to Satan. They think he's a myth, too.
Atheists don't go after Christianity because it's the real way to God. They go after it because Christians keep trying to push it into our laws and schools. If you go to church and worship God, that's your business. When you try to ban same-sex marriage by waving a verse from some book by a bunch of Bronze Age Arabs and saying we need to make our laws conform to it, you make it other peoples' business.
I agree with the less critical of Buddhism part. No Buddhist has ever tried to proselytize me in any way, and I applaud their tendencies toward kindness to animals. However, you are NOT invited to any of my Satan-groveling soirees.

Satan is part of YOUR beliefs. We don't believe in him, either. Why would we grovel to something we don't believe in? Do you grovel to Thor? To Zeus? To Ra?
We're not trying to keep you away from any imaginary beliefs you have. Just don't be forcing your imaginary beliefs on the rest of us! Don't be using your imaginary beliefs to justify your denying civil rights to others. Don't be forcing your delusions on anyone else.
Atheists, from what I've seen, seek to stop the authoritarian elements of religion that seeks to impose itself on all people. The element that says "My way is the only right way and if you disagree with me you're an idiot and must be silenced."
It's a relative few atheists that seek to turn around and make the same mistake but with atheism instead of Christianity. Thankfully, they're mostly a vocal minority.
Actually it's just that the Buddhists don't consider it their sacred duty to enforce the dictates of their spiritual beliefs upon the rest of society by co-opting the law.
Why the fuck would we grovel before Satan? Even if we actually believed in him, to do so would defeat the whole point of his gifting us with true awareness. Recall that (according to the story) he never once demanded our worship. In fact he didn't demand anything . Your god, on the other hand, demands total mindless obedience and is quick to punish any perceived hesitance. And say what you will of him but Satan is never said to have murdered a city (or planet) or directly overridden an individual's free will in order to manipulate them like a puppet. Your god, on the other hand, apparently has no such qualms.
The real question, it seems, is thus: why do Christians, believing all these fairy tales to be true, insist upon worshipping the god of evil & pain & death who demonstrates an endless lust for his own followers' blood & suffering whilst spitting upon the one who, without making even the slightest of demands, unshackled their purposefully restrained intelligence and bid them do as they would in accordance with their own newly awakened consciences and discover the limits of their own minds?

Islam must be the real way to god because infidels go after it and try to stamp it out.
As Paula Poundstone said, atheists don't have converting others as part of their beliefs. They're not going to show up at your door on Saturday morning and say, "Here's a blank book that we'd like you to take a look at."
We don't go after Buddhists because they're not erecting statues of Buddha on government property. And I've never had a Buddhist knock on my door on Saturday morning asking me if I've heard the good news of Buddha.
That being said, I'm not actually trying to stamp out Christianity, either. Christians are doing a good enough job on their own making Christianity irrelevant.
