[Responding to someone claiming that no loving person would support hanging "Heretics"]
Please show me where I said we'd hang heretics. I said we would have the death penalty. I said that we'd hang murderers, rapists, kidnappers, homosexuals ,
abortionists ; nothing about heretics.

First, hanging people is kind of rare outside of the Third World. Even America has its principles.
Second, do you really need to hang kidnappers? Kidnapping, in of itself, is not really execution worthy. Whatever is done during the course of the kidnapping (murder, rape, torture, all that) is fair game for punishment.
Third, executing homosexuals really shows what a tolerant human being you are. And making abortion a crime shows your ignorance as well.
One, SoF is a heretic and knows it.
Two, once all the murderers, etc. are done with, they'll look around for other subgroups to exterminate. Next up, the freethinkers.
Only murderers, rapists, kidnappers, homosexuls and abortionists? Sorry. We thought you had some extreme policy in mind.
This reminds me of a age old quote by a very wise man:
"My Homer is not a communist. He may be a liar, a pig, an idiot, a communist, but he is not a porn star."
- Grandpa Simpson
Why would you want to kill a homosexal?
I know your bible is agianst it, but it is alos agianst wearing mixed fabrics.
Good old fashioned, tie the heretics to the stake and ignite with burning faggots. What could be more traditional?
fundamentalists delenda est
Remember that to dispensationalists (or any other of the sharp-liners; do we know whether ShieldOfStasis hearkens to Darby and Scofield or not?), the strictly ritual laws--forbidding of tamei foods (pork, shellfish, eels, etc.), the mixed-plant clothes, etc.--were dispelled by the Crucifixion, as their only real purpose was to drive home to the Hebrews their separate and holy nature in comparison to the Canaanites et al. Criminal and philosophical laws, however, stay put. Hence, there is still belief that the laws against homosexuality, heresy (i.e. following those who champion "strange gods"), etc. must be held to the letter.
Maybe we should tell ShieldOfFaith that the Sanhendrin was actually very reluctant to declare death sentences--only when it could be truly proven that the accused acted in cold blood? As I mentioned before, two death sentences even SIXTY years apart was a bad sign--possible bloodlust infection in the community. (Of course, this might not have been strictly Torah-based; this would have been after the Hebrews encountered the Persians...and Zoroastrianism.)
Oh God, it's this again... This guy just keeps getting douchier and douchier....
What happened to loving homosexuals? And trying to repress/coerce/force them into acting straight? That's still shitty, but at least they don't die!
You know all those people who advocate capital punishment?
I wonder if they would still advocate it if it came down to them having to face it.
Well, SoF if you commited a crime worthy of death would you be willing to face execution? Or are you one of those internet tough guys who talk big?
aaa:
"His avatar is VERY creepy."
Yeah, before I saw his profile pic, and saw his avatar and his ranting style, I Imagined him as one of those stereotypical wild-eyed doomsayers.
No loving...or rational...person would support hanging or any other form of capital punishment. It is just too easy to convict an innocent person and once you've executed him, there's no restitution when the mistake is eventually discovered. Just ask Ray Krone or Kirk Bloodworth.
"With the advent of DNA testing, more prisoners are being freed after wrongful convictions. The pace of exonerations has jumped sharply, from about 12 a year through the early 1990s to an average of 43 a year since 2000, according to a study by the University of Michigan. There have been at least 328 exonerations since 1989, and about half of those since 1999 were based on DNA evidence." (http://www.truthinjustice.org/scars.htm )
But you wouldn't care about that, now, would you?
Confused?
