Charles Darwin’s Theory of Evolution (often referred to as The Theory of Survival of the Fittest) describes the positive effects resulting from any “pressure” on an animal species that removes the least fit among the species and allows only the most fit of the species to reproduce. Many of us are well aware of this “Survival of the Fittest” theory, but few are aware that Darwin also makes mention of the negative effects resulting from unlimited reproduction of a species’ least fit when the weak, the lazy, and the stupid are left unchecked.
We like to think otherwise, but our species, Homo sapiens-sapiens, isn’t that long “out of the trees” and the same laws of nature that affect all of God’s creatures apply equally to us. If we were to observe any other species that had been allowed to reproduce without limitations, we would know immediately what the consequences will be.
Whenever the weak; lazy; and stupid of a species are allowed to reproduce unimpeded by predators that feed off the weak; lazy; and stupid, they soon outnumber the strong, productive, and intelligent. When the weak/lazy/stupid dominate the gene pool, the entire population becomes weak/ lazy/stupid, (Democrats/Socialists/Communists) and then the population collapses.

I can't think of any better example of the intellectually lazy and stupid than those who gather at sites like Free Republic, Whirled Nut Daily and other sites along the same lines.
Also, this is literally the same argument the Nazis used to justify killing and sterilizing people they considered of inferior genetic stock.
And of course you'll be happy to volunteer to sit on the panel deciding who qualifies as weak, lazy and stupid, right? Let's see if you qualify:

Oh well, we're at least a couple of millions of years out of the trees. We diverged from our closest relatives; the Chimpanzees and Bonobos some two million years ago, and judging by our lack of tails, neither of us lived in the trees by then.
The consequences are epidemics, like the bubonic plague that killed off a third of the European population in its largest outbreak (so far), and the global climate change that is threatening to destroy life as we know it.

I just can't help but notice that he's *that* close to actually suggest eugenics.
In fact, I won't be surprised if he starts advocating killing off certain groups of people...
That's not what "survival of the fittest" means! Fitness is just the reproductionary success of individuals in a population across their lifetime. Individuals which are not adapted to their environment are less LIKELY to reproduce and therefore are not able to have many genetic successors. Notice that being "strong" or "smart" or "not lazy" can be advantageous for that... if they aren't actually disadvantageous: Huge muscle mass needs extreme amounts of energy which means that in a ressource-poor environment they are not helpful. Being a workaholic can be used by others, see certain ant species who just kill the queens of other ants and plant their own so that the host ant workers are feeding them instead and unknowingly proliferate THEIR young. And being smart doesn't help you in an environment which you can't change fast enough on your own. It takes enormous amounts of energy to keep our brains going, which can't be used for other things like additional muscle mass and has detrimental effects on child birth (Ever wondered why human children take so long to develope on their own after birth in relation to other mammalian children? It's because if they were birthed when the brain is already fully developed that would certainly kill its mother.) So no, you don't understand evolution and you can go fuck off with your semi-eugenical ideas.
Odd as it may seem, evolutionary fitness does not necessarily have anything to do with strength, activity, or intelligence. If a weak, lazy, stupid person turns out to be immune to a devastating plague, they will survive and their strong, active, intelligent neighbors will die out.
Since we don't know what future problems our descendants will face, we have no way of knowing what genetic traits to select for. Strength, etc., may have little value in the future.

The people constantly bitching about others getting something without working for it are all recipients of that something, the Republican convinced them if any body else got something that would mean less for them.
