[. Why would the Holy Spirit mis-guide the translators to employ the use of mythical creatures like “unicorn” for wild ox, “satyr” for “wild goat”, “cockatrice” for common viper, when today we know what the real name of these creatures is?]
You do not know the real names; remember that the dictionaries were corrupted in the 1700s. These creatures mentioned in Scripture are real animals. For instance, the changing of dragon to hyena is based on the constellation of Draco. The entire western world sees a dragon there, but an obscure tribe of nomadic Bedouins sees a ring of camels surrounding a baby camel to protect it from hyenas. On that flimsy thread, modern dictionaries change dragon to hyena.

This post is so silly that it's a waste of time and effort to comment on it.
Having said that, bwahahahaha! Ekkman makes a funny!
"a ring of camels surrounding a baby camel to protect it from hyenas"
Hyenas and camels don't live in the same fucking enviroment. FAIL.
And the dictionaries were corrupted? Source?
That must have been the same time as they changed the meaning of the word 'fact' from "made up shit", to "well established observation about the real world".
I see, Ekkman's still using the old meaning.
so an obscure tribe of nomads has secretly controled the entire science of Zoology across the world for the last few hundred years??
And that makes more sense ot you then the idea that maybe you just flat out full of shit?
OK, so why did the Holy Spirit misguide the translators to translate the same Hebrew word (tanniyn) as dragon, whale, serpent and sea monster? And how come the tanniyn is sometimes in the sea and sometimes howling on land?
The words. They're English. But. But.
Sausage the rectify event. When horse subtly cone notify of envelope. Thought but telephone erroneously bathe.
Shit, Ekkman got me! Saaaaave meeeee!!!

Duh. Obviously it doesn't refer to actual whales but underwater dragons. The original Hebrew had slightly different words for the different types of dragons, but this had to be determined from context since the original Hebrew was unpointed. But a consortium of freemasons (the same ones that abducted Elvis) hushed it all up, of course.
He even got burned by the higher ups on the blog.
[EDITOR’S NOTE: Ekkman,
brother, does the term “beating a dead horse” have some application here? I hope this is the the last one on this. Will you put all of these on-line somewhere? Then in the future we can just refer to titles and links, please. P.A. ]
Septic Sceptic took the worlds right out of my mouth, as well as the picture I was going to use...
People in ancient times didn't know what we do today about a lot of different things. The Bible was folklore, an attempt of people to understand things around them, and that was the best they could come up with. Dogged adherence to the letter of something in the past is incoherent and unnecessary.
"...dictionaries were corrupted in the 1700s."
Um, no, the real work in English lexicography only started in the 1700s, iirc.
Here is the verse he is talking about:
Isaiah 13:22, King James Version:
"And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged."
Isaiah 13:22, New International Version:
"Hyenas will howl in her strongholds, jackals in her luxurious palaces. Her time is at hand, and her days will not be prolonged."
While a sane person would conclude that the KJV translators simply didn't have access to the same variety of source material that later became available to the NIV translators, a KJV-onlyist will not be so easily deterred.
Remember, the Bible was corrupted by King James in the early 1600s. Those must have been some influential Bedouins. Besides, both dragon and hyena come from Latin root words long before the 1700s, and are also styles of Kung Fu that pre-date any of that garbage you can drag up. The Orient is one of the oldest modern civilizations still in existence, and had a spoken and written language at the same time the Hebrew Bible was being written. I guess it's easy to forget about other parts of Asia when you're busy making stuff up about the only one you think is important.
"The entire western world sees a dragon there"
Constellations, even if you draw lines, do not in any way resemble what they suppose to depict.
>tracer:
So actually, the dragons were replaced by jackals, not hyenas. The hyenas replaced "wild beasts if the islands".
Confused?
