The first crusade, the only truly successful one that took back Jerusalem, killed off more Jews, Eastern Orthodox Christians, and Coptic Christians than Muslims. Speaking as someone who actually knows SOMETHING about the Crusades, you fail. Was the Fourth Crusade good? "Forget killing Muslims, let's sack Constantinople!" And let's not forget the start of the First Crusade: "Let's kill Jews and even other Christians!"
Unpatriotic to what country, exactly? "Unpatriotic" isn't a good insult here on the interwebs...you never know what country someone's from. For all you know they love their country, they're just not IN the same country as you.
Then again "unpatriotic" isn't a very useful insult anywhere else either, seeing as it's been commandeered to mean "not agreeing with my (generally conservative, but only because liberals have other blanket insults) opinion." Personally, if being patriotic means thinking that genocide is preferable to a few thousand deaths a few hundred years later, I'll be unpatriotic and fucking proud of it.

So, maybe it's a good thing that they failed because, otherwise, America wouldn't exist. BTW, haven't you considered that maybe, following your logic, 9/11 exists BECAUSE of the Crusades?

You do realize a lot of Europeans died in the Crusades dontcha? Many survived the battle and died on the way back you idiot, from wounds, repercussions from raiding villiages on the way down, and plain starvation.
