[Just because you believe it's true doesn't mean it happened, and neither does 400 people claiming to be raised from the dead make it true without evidence. A larger number of people (as far as I know) claim to have seen and/or been abducted by aliens, does that make it true?]
First off it's not 400 people claiming to be resurrected, its 400 folks who were raised from the dead with hundreds if not thousands of eye witnesses.
It's a bit different with UFO's, they don't stick around to testify about it. BUT believe (or don't believe what you want). You follow the old adage, for the non-believer no amount of proof is ever sufficient. For most here no proof is necessary. These things only confirm what we already know.

There are over 400 cases of folks having been bought back from the dead by various saints. So even if you don't believe the 2000 year old Bible story there are others who have done the same thing.
The height of arrogance is us telling God He does not exist. That's truly arrogant.
Anyway, this reminds me of those preachers on tv trying to claim they can heal people and "proving" it by touching someone who is disabled and then having them jump up and down screaming they can walk. People buy that crap in this day of age, so it would be so much easier to fool believers with this routine hundreds of years ago.

This is in response to the original poster who was asking for help in telling her parents that she was an atheist and that's the complete and entire post by him. Short and to the point with no rhyme or reason. Absolutely classic.

TB: This event took place in the Babble just after Jesus was crucified. Amazing, isn't it that such an astounding and earth-shattering event with 'hundreds if not thousands of eye witnesses" was not recorded anywhere by any other contemporary writer of that time. Not one word about it except in the fairytale book about this imaginary god. If something this phenomenal had actually happened, it would have been recorded across the pages of history.
The quote is wrong. It actually reads: "For the unbeliever, no proof is POSSIBLE. For the believer, no proof is necessary." This SIGNIFICANTLY changes the meaning from "no amount of proof is ever sufficient".
In other words, whatever flimsy old anecdotal tale fits your prior beliefs is called "proof"? Sorry, that's not how this sort of thing works. Evidence is definitely welcome -- whenever you actually present something worthy of being called "evidence," let alone "proof."
Fundies claim to see everything from speaking in tongues to seeing clubbed foots straighten before their eyes. Weirdly, no one else seems to see these miraculous things and doctors can't confirm it. They would probably say that's because they're chosen by god. I say it's because they're off their meds.

You contend there were "hundreds if not thousands of eye-witnesses," but we have no testimony (zip, zero, zilch) from any of these supposed witnesses to the events in question. Surely the mass resurrection of hundreds of persons would have been THE most remarkable event in these "witnesses" lives. Why have we heard nothing from them. Equally important, why have we heard no testimony from those resurrected?

I'm perfectly willing to accept Xian theology with reasonable proof. I think your problem here is that a. you don't really know what constitutes proof and b. even if you do know, you can't find any actual proof to support your theology.

Yes, I agree. You and your Fundie pals are willing to believe all sorts of wild assertions without a lick of proof. You are the ones whose minds are made up. You so desperately wish the Xian myths to be true that you will ignore and berate anything that does not reinforce them.

Hey, don't you know. Some of those who were raised from the dead, wrote epistles, had families, had children, roved about the countryside preaching Jesus. Their testimony is well documented. Many of them lived longer the second time than they would have lived otherwise, miracles do that! The apostles, all who wrote after this grand resurection actually listed the names of those who experienced that resurection.
Okay. I'd like you to find someone who can ressurect just one person from the dead while I'm present. After it has been verified that he or she is really dead. Oh, and using only the power of God, of course. None of that dagnabbed science mumbo jumbo.

I'm assuming they are talking about the supposed mass resurrection of people at the time of the crucifixion. Yeah that would have been something that folks would take note of.
We have MORE evidence of UFOs than of Jesus coming back from the dead. Even a blurry picture of an unidentifiable light is more proof than they have that Jesus existed at all.
I always found that bit of the Bible interesting though. Could this be described as the world's first zombie plague story? :p
