(The following should be “read” in Penn Gillette’s voice from Bullshit!)
Deep in the Ocean said: because only devil can show them what is supernatural through magic or witchcrafts.
What exactly do you think that the priest is doing at the altar? In look and "feel" it is very similar to pagan rituals.
The difference is that Xtians, like the Old Testament Hebrews before them, monopolized magick, permitting only their own clergy to practice it.
Pagans believe that all persons may use the energy provided by the God and the Goddess.
This, however, requires a willingness to assume personal responsibility for one's own actions.
The Wiccan Rede, ("Do what thou wilt, if it harm none") is not a call to licentiousness; it is an admonition to use great care when exercising all of one's abilities, mundane or magickal.
The “Three-Fold Rule of Return” observed by some pagans promises that one’s actions, good or ill, will be acted upon by the powers of the universe in real time.
This combined ethical and supernatural belief system effectively replaces the need for a book that tells us that eating shrimp or ham hocks, along with gay sex, are “abomination.”
We’ve no need for hundreds of rules, laws and loopholes, many of which seem to be designed to feed and clothe the clergy (really read Leviticus and what you have to pay in order to re-dress your sins).
Nope, all we need to know is not to eat spoiled food, to wear a condom, and to treat others as we ourselves wish to be treated. Pretty simple, right?
Wait a minute. Didn’t that dude from Nazareth talk about this 2,000 years ago? Somebody old guy named Mark wrote it down:
“And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.”
Loving God, not “fearing” Him? Loving others? Hmmm
F**king hippie!!
Oh, and don’t even get me started on athiests....
