There is no such thing as a lapsed or former Christian. You either are a child of God Saved by Christ or you are not Saved and never were. There is no inbetween or halfmeasure with God.

Well, I converted from Christianity to Buddhism in the 10th grade, so put that in your Bibble pipe and smoke on it, or better yet, just ignore, suppress, and deny it.

The ex-Olympic gold medal-winning and long-time born-again Christian-turned Atheist Jonathan Edwards would like a word with you:

'In an interview in The Times on 27 June 2007, Edwards said: "If there is no God, does that mean that life has no purpose? Does it mean that personal existence ends at death? They are thoughts that do my head in. One thing that I can say, however, is that even if I am unable to discover some fundamental purpose to life, this will not give me a reason to return to Christianity. Just because something is unpalatable does not mean that it is not true." Furthermore, in the interview with The Times he also stated "When you think about it rationally, it does seem incredibly improbable that there is a God." In the same interview he also said "I feel internally happier than at any time of my life." Edwards confirmed his rejection of Christianity in an interview on BBC Radio 5 Live on 29 July 2007'

I was raised Catholic, but no longer practice. That would make me lapsed. Or, when I was growing up, going to Mass on Sunday and losing an afternoon play time to go to CCD after school once a week, I was a lapsed atheist?
Sounds excellent! I guess that means you can now stop to fucking proselytize everyfuckingwhere you go. I can't be saved anyway because I never WAS saved to begin with--you said so yourself!
Take your own advice, get the fuck away from me and other "heathens" and stop trying to convert people.

If you are a former Christian, then you have realised that there was/is nothing to be saved from.
“There is no such thing as a lapsed or former Christian.”
I’m sure you can objectively prove that this is a fact, not just you being terribly afraid you might lose your salvation one day…?
“You either are a child of God Saved by Christ or you are not Saved and never were.”
Okay. I went from Mormon and pretty damned convinced to a more non-specific but still faithful Christain, to a theist without a framework, to finally realizing i was an atheist.
I suppose i was NEVER actually saved, but then i have wor ask, is anyone? Can we really know before judgment day? You’re SURE god will pick you for his team for that great Phys Ed volleyball game in the sky. But it’s not really your decision, is it?
You’re confident, and arrogant, and judgmental, and those really are two strikes against you, as I recal.
“There is no inbetween or halfmeasure with God.”
I’m more inclined to believe no one’s saved because there’s no god.
Confused?
