We hear a lot about Uganda's and Russia's new laws. We don't hear quite as much about the fact that Uganda is the 38th African nation to criminalize what the Bible describes as "abomination". While the actions of a single judge are supposed to be indicative of progress, the democratic actions of entire nations are being ignored.
In the end, it is pretty simple. Reversion to the historical mean is the logical bet. And the USA is far from the first empire in decline to give itself up to sexual chaos.

There is a middle ground; it just doesn't fit your narrow world view. If you're going to throw the Bible into this, why don't you start with I Thessalonians 4:11. Those countries that reached your desired conclusions are third world or at risk of sliding into one. Those that have gone the opposite direction are thriving and much more peaceful.

It's too frighteningly real for that. He has already annexed the Crimean peninsula, and is trying to overtake cities in the east of Ukraine. A lot of Russian air force exercises are “accidentally” performed near the Baltic Sea countries.)

Orly? Can't stomach getting a taste of your own medicine, hm? No the Fundamentalist, far-right bigoted Christians have not "tried toleration" or put forth any honest effort to treat gay people with respect. The only thing they have ever wanted is for gays to either die or get back in the closet and shut up. Good point. Let's round up Lebron James, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, and Colin Powell and put them on the plantation and take away their right to vote because clearly all this tolerance stuff hasn't worked out at all. What? That would be a bad idea because most people are no longer that racist and it would actually cause not just black people but all people to riot against us? But I thought you said tolerance doesn't work.

your kind always says shit like that, but what exactly are you talking about? do you have something in mind, or are you just talking? i could say that hyper-religiosity has been associated with declining society too. and in saying it, i leave the impression that i know something about history that, if someone questioned me on it, i'd use to make them look stupid. but the truth is i don't really know that much at all about history. if i bothered to study it though, the history of declining empires, i'm willing to bet that the understanding of it that i'd walk away with is one of subtle complexity too great to say something as simple as "declining societies indulge sexually", or "declining societies indulge in hyper-religiosity". i say that as a person who lives in a dumbfoundingly complex world, so you may disagree, being that you live in such a simple world.
