[Talking about divorce rates in Christian communities.]
Your statistics are incorrect.
Besides, most of those in the US who profess to be Christians only do so because they hold Christian beliefs.

... huh? Isn't that the definition of a Christian? A person who holds Christian beliefs/ Someone needs to smack you with a dictionary.
"most of those in the US who profess to be christians only do so because they are!"
This is supposed to be an argument AGAINST the fact that there's a 50%ish divorce rate?
"only Christians do that" ?
interesting.
Now to be fair, his last statement DOES make sense.... oh, how? Well, try, if you can, to wrap and warp and crinkle up your brain into the thinking pattern of a fundie...
There. Now from this perspective, you can easily see that holding Christian beliefs doesn't make one a Christian - only being truly saved by Christ and accepting Jesus into your heart yada yada yada yada yada makes you a Christian.
Now quick, unwarp and uncrinkle your brain before it becomes permanently damaging.
A lot of people who, when asked by pollsters, profess to be Christian, only do so because they think it's the right thing to say.
Wait... what? Isn't the definition of a Christian "one who holds Christian beliefs"?
Also, Fundie debate strategy #14: If the statistics don't agree with me, the statistics are wrong.
If they're incorrect it's funny. They come from reliable sources, one of them Christian, by the way. Second, what do you think that "being a Christian" is?, bingo, to hold Christian beliefs. Or is it now to wear blue pants?
A desperate lie, followed by a circular non-sequitur.
Did the_insect learn its debating technique from Hannity?
Besides, most of those in the US who profess to be Christians only do so because they hold Christian beliefs. Yes, as opposed to all the ACTUAL Christians who DON'T hold any Christian beliefs... seriously... what the fuck???
A=A only because A=A.
O.o
Well, they're sort of right, actually. Most Christian denominations believe that just believing in God/Jesus/et cetera doesn't make a person a Christian. To put it differently, to most Christians (and even according to their holy book), being a Christian isn't just a noun or an adjective, it's a verb.
So laugh all you want, but the view of this person is biblically correct.
Gee, Yeah, let's be fair here.
"So laugh all you want, but the view of this person is biblically correct."
According to Jesus your not supposed to be showy about it, it's to be private. No churchs, no public displays, no demands on the kingdom.
How the fuck is most American Christianity not breaking these teachings of Jesus? The Cricket violated this by ignoring the kingdoms proclamation "Your statistics are incorrect".
Hell is where your bound unless you adhere to your leaders on Earth. You'd know this, if you were a real Christian.
I'm betting when W was in charge (ha ha) you believed and obeyed.
Here we go again with the "no true Christian"TM.
*rolls eyes*
How convenient that when you people are faced with a legit statistical number you always pull the get-out-of-jail-free card and claim the ones who are sized up for the statistics are nothing like you and do not count. XD
“Your statistics are incorrect.”
Do you have better statistics from multiple superior sources? Or are you just sticking your fingers in your ears and screaming ‘NOOO!’??
“Besides, most of those in the US who profess to be Christians only do so because they hold Christian beliefs.”
How, exactly, do you define ‘CHristain,’ then?
And, please, make up your mind. Are the numbers correct, but they don’t matter because reasons?
Or are the numbers incorrect because only (5%? 15%? 54.33%) of christains are REALLY christains, so they are correct for the fake Xians, not real Xians.
