Einstein may have been smarter, but Moses was much wiser, realizing that God used Moses to transmit the most important information for man to get along with each other. Otherwise, man would be living like animals-stealing from each other, killing each other, and having sex with everyone and anything and everything. Dennis Prager had the most coherent treatise on this. Without Moses, man would never have progressed much beyond the caveman stage. And people like Gore and Obama would return mankind to the primitive stage by striking down Mosaic Law and restraint and replacing it with just Man’s Law.

First of all, the law of Moses WAS "man's law," just with a fancy deity's name slapped on it. Thankfully the smart people in this country don't subscribe to the idea that laws from over two millennia ago should remain in effect today.
What about all those people from all those cultures that weren't there to learn Mosaic Law? Like everybody South, North, East, and West of that one desert dwelling tribe?
"Otherwise, man would be living like animals-stealing from each other, killing each other, and having sex with everyone and anything and everything."
Sure! Because nobody steals, kills, or has sex outside of marriage these days!
man would never have progressed much beyond the caveman stage.
That's interesting considering man never had a caveman stage what with them being a different species and all. It's also interesting considering man already had well established civilizations long before the time Moses was supposed to have lived. If I recall correctly he was 120 at his time of death and he lived during the 1400s BCE. Even if you don't know the history of Humanity during and before this time, do you and this Dennis Prager seriously know nothing about the story involving Moses in Egpyt from your own religion? He went to Egypt, a thriving civilization with their own laws, freed the Hebrews, and THEN received the ten commandments.
Einstein was both intelligent and intuitive.
Moses is a character in a badly-written book.
Any modern cokehead could scrape ten commandments together like that. I'm not really impressed, as only 3 or 4 are relevant, and they are pretty much universal anyway.
There was no Moses. And thus far "Judeo-Christian" morality has done absolutely nothing to prevent men from living like animals, stealing from each other, killing each other and having indiscriminate sex. Maybe things will pick up for you in the next 3,000 years.
It doesn't take a freaking rocket scientist to realize you can't have a society where people are killing and stealing each other. You realize that the story of Moses only affects one group of people in a time were there already where more powerful civilizations had existed long before the Jews and had the same laws. So either all those civilizations were inspired by God or that man is capable of looking after himself, and neither of these scenarios I think you're willing to admit.
Furthermore the Hittites actually had more just laws then Moses. Moses said the punishment for theft was to cut off the hand of thief, were as in Hattusas the punishment for theft was to return what was stolen, or to pay back the equivalent amount to the original owner, and they were a much more secular society.
Mosaic Law? It was put together with colored tiles? How decorative!
You'll note that even civilizations which had NO contact with a Christian nation had very similar laws. It's not because God came down the mountain to them and it's not because Moses sent out stone transcriptions to his pals in the Americas. It's because those are the basic rules of all civilizations which they have all come to on their own because they're what works.
If you and your kind can't live peaceably without that pack o' lies and a threat of eternal torture, then you're all sociopaths.
Performed your wave sacrifice today?
Sacrificed a bullock to the lord today?
Stoned an insolent child to death?
Yeah, the law of Moses is so important.
Only one little problem with that: The people you're talking about left a highly-advanced civilization that managed to remain in some form for a few thousand years.
And I would ask you to re-read Exodus, focusing on the Mt. Sinai episodes especially. Moses--if he existed and behaved as described--was a violent, controlling cult leader. See the elaborate, bloody descriptions of animal sacrifice. See the punishments doled out to those who stepped out of line (at one time, the text claims he and his stooges slaughtered 3000 of their own people in cold blood).
I'm just not at all impressed with anything you or your ilk has to say about the character/person/idea of Moses.
Ah yes, good old mosaic law.
Which even Jesus admits was flawed.
"For your hardness of heart Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so."
"Otherwise, man would be living like animals-stealing from each other, killing each other, and having sex with everyone and anything and everything."
You mean we aren't?
So, if I make a picture of Moses using a bunch of little bitty tiles, then it woud be . . .
aw, forget it. Not funny anyway.
It's funny, since many civilisations who didn't meet Moses got alone very well and didn't steal, lie, rape, etc...........Moreover, God punished those guys so many times that, apparently, the rules were not particularly well conceived.
Otherwise, man would be living like animals-stealing from each other, killing each other, and having sex with everyone and anything and everything.
Strange, then, how a not insubstantial amount of the old testament consists of god's chosen people massacring surrounding tribes, nicking all their stuff and raping their women.
So that great society of Egypt, which the Torah references, didn't exist because the law of Moses hadn't been handed down yet? Or how about the societies that had sprung up before Moses? Soddom + Gamorah, the people who built the Tower of Babel. I mean I'm just using your own "historically accurate" book here. Those societies didn't exist?
Moses led the Jews out of Egypt before he gave the Jews the ten commandments.
Do you honestly believe that Egypt, one of the big three advanced cultures of the ancient world, had no laws against theft, murder and marriage?
Sorry, but humans already *do* steal, kill, and rape. It's primarily fundie nutters like you who do these things, though. Wonder why?
"Otherwise, man would be living like animals-stealing from each other, killing each other, and having sex with everyone and anything and everything"
Yes good thing those "Holy" Crusaders never went around stealing, killing and raping...oh wait.
Moses had two inportant tasks in his 120 years
1. In the East Moses was assigned to civilize & reteach mankind to walk upright after being made to run across the burning sands of Asia to the caves of the Nothern Caucaus Mts of Europe where mankind (after being grafted by and from the Original(Nubian)Man) then became, as we know, the caveman and because of geographical location, became as we know to this very day, the caucausian. Once civilized by Moses the caucausian or caveman from that time until now have put into practice his favorite lessons every where he has explored, which we know as "deciet and trickology". As a matter of fact that is why the Caucausian , Caveman , Devil, Grafted One or Mankind, (your choice),was cast out of the Kingdom of God in the begining.
2.In the West Moses had the trying task of convincing the bigwig Ramsies to set free his nation of people from the cluches of Egyptian slavery.America has become a modern day Egypt,Babylon&Rome rolled into one with a twist of na-z-isum.
This information is so easy to obtain even a caveman can do it!!!!!!!
People had already left the cave man stage by the time of Moses. Plus, cavemen didn't steal from each other or kill each other, they would be ostracized if they did. They probably didn't have sex with everyone and anything either. The men then probably wanted to know what kid was theirs, just like today's men.
"Mosaic Law" is stupid, it's mostly what god you should follow, and a whole list of things you should not envy others for having.
If any one have any dout about how the ole caveman was, check out the movie "Quest for Fire" to get a small glimpse of the homosexuality, beastiality, animalistic, muderous & thifing ways of of this cave deweller. All that started in the caves of the caucauas mts and is still going on today in 2010
If there is any person on earth of research age, that believes that the caveman existed any futher back than a little over 6,000 years must not know that deciet & trickology has been your closest ally and truth your worse adversary.Yes, the caveman and family were around before durning and after the time of Moses.Ask your teachers, preachers & scholars to stop deciving & tricking you and let the Truth B. Told.
> God used Moses to transmit the most important information for man to get along with each other.<
