Well Jordan and I have been discussing the issue on what age to let any daughters we have be allowed to cut their hair if they want to or pierce their ears (which isn't wrong but I want them to make their own decision I hate it when parents pierce baby girls ears) or other such things. We thought age sixteen might be a good age to start letting them decided some things (and begin wearing makeup about then if they want to) but the whole not wearing pants thing would be when they leave home if they are gonna wear pants we can't stop them but while our daughters (if God blesses us with any) are in our house they will wear skirts.

Yes, you're absolutely right, AmazingGrace. Women should have long hair, and wear skirts, and men should have short hair and wear pants. That's just the way it is, don't question it.image

Only reason I could imagine is that skirts make it easier for daddy, uncle and the local pastor. All they have to do is lift it, push some panties out of the way. Flip up, abuse, flip back down. Its a real timesaver!

I really should stop following this girl's posts; I really, really should. But it's just so interesting, and I really have to see it through to the end. My money's on running back to Australia in a few months to suckle at our generous welfare tit after finding out that all the religion in the world can't solve her fucked up life. Amen, sister!

I can agree with the ear piercing. I think that's something someone should decide on their own. As for the rest of it, though, don't bitch when your kids move across the country and never speak to you again. Because it seems to me that you'll be telling them that they can make their own choices, but only as long as they make the same choices you would have made for them. And no teenager is going to like that.
I have a suggestion, AG, why not have your future daughters walk around naked and then invite in some of your fundamentalist friends who can then look them over and maybe take one off your hands. In this way, you would be able to pass them off to a husband, who would have complete control over her, and he could decide about the pants, earrings and make-up and so on.
Besides, one of the things that amazes me best is the lack of autonomy in thinking of the fundies. They have to use the BIBLE for everything. Don´t they realise that the reason why there is no mention in the Bible over the topic or that the reason why Jesus looked like a hippie in with the hair and the beard and the long robes is because the fashion for women to wear long robes and no pants and the men to have short hair is a social stereotype, not a God-sanctioned mandate?, that´s why the verse they mention is so vague.
Hey, I actually like skirts, especially of the 'mini' variety. Think about it. You have to deal with buttons and zippers and pulling the pants down with pants. When you have a skirt, all you have to do is lift it up. I call that easy access.
