There is no "gaps" for the Bible to fill in. It is whole and not in parts like evolution. There is no need to search for more evidence with the Bible. It is all recorded and complete.

No one who has actually read the bible would believe this, much less be a fundy. So, this is just more proof that fundies don't actually read or study the bible but just take the lying word of their pastor or some other "authority" figure.

Yeah, about that. Can you explain to me what plants did in the day before the sun was created?

"Poe?"
Unfortunately I don't think so. Although that fits the definition of Poe's law to the letter. The problem with the Bible is that some people actually DO take the time to read it. When you get into trouble (and this is something they never tell you about in Bible study classes) is when you discover that in deciding what would be the canon i.e.: the complete and inerrant word of God, they just decided to leave out scripture that contradicted other books or didn't jive with an established doctrine. The history of that is a hoot to read! Replete with politcal intrigue, backstabbing, and slaying the infidels. No wonder most Fundies gloss over that part of their history.

Oh yeah? What happened to Ahaziah, Joash and Amaziah in the 64 years between Joram's death and the reign of Ozias (2 Chron. 22, Matt. 1:8)? Of course, you can claim that technically "Joram begat Ozias", since Ozias was Joram's great-great grandson, but then the count in Matt. 1:17 doesn't work anymore.
Matt. 1:11 is also missing Jehoiakim between Josias and Jechonias (2 Kings 22:34)
Complete? No. It doesn't say a fucking thing about Greece, Persia, India or China, does it now?
Nope. Just the trials and tribulations of a belligerent tribe of bronze-age goatherders...
EUREKA!
This bible thingy is the preindustrial version of the TV soap opera!!!1!
Okay, if all is recorded and it is complete, what did Jesus do in those forty days in the desert? I'm sure not all of it was described in the bible. Where did Jesus set his first foot on the water to walk to the boat? How many goats did Isaac own? What happened to Adam after the killing of Abel and before the birth of Noah? Thats a few hundred years of unrecorded events. I'm pretty sure that a guy who walked with God in the garden of eden could explain a lot to the people who just started to worship that god. Why didn't they record any of that?

Wow - just because you're too mentally short sighted to see them, doesn't mean they're not there.
