I just said: Murder is wrong, and abortion is murder, hence; abortion is murder. That's not typographical stammering, that's logic.

Well, kind of. It's sort of A=B, B=C, C=B. Which I think mostly proves that you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, but you can sometimes swap a sausage patty for a hamburger.
@Sideshow Bob:
Read the thread, it is no typo. The one he's arguing with ("SusieBeeca") even simplyfied it as
"X is wrong, and Y is X. Therefore, Y is X."
and he still claimed it was logical.
Your logic is wrong...
Abstract thoughts are beyond you.
Better repeat that.
Abstract thoughts are beyond you.
If what you wrote isn't "typographical stammering" it's asshattery on an industrial scale!
Okay, nutcase.
How is this fundy?
"The logic isn't necessarily bad, it's just irrelevent."
No, the logic is bad. It might be sound , but it's still bad.
*PING* *SWOOSSH*
That was the sound of my logic gauge imploding due to the complete logical vacuum created by this sentence, and then air rushing in to fill the empty space.
Honestly, that's what reading stuff like this feels like.
"I'm right because I'm right!" is not even rational, nevermind it being logic.
You obviously need a big dose of cluebattery to understand.
... that's logic."
Could have fooled me.
it's funny, eviolinist can not dedend himself at all and drives around in circles for like a whole page of posts. Eventually he loses the arguement (duh) and 'leaves' because of all of the 'stupid people'. Typical fundie exit strategy, "I dont really lose, you are just stupid and I don't feel like arguing anymore!"
A is B; C is A; therefore C is A. Yep. That's logic alright! [/sarcasm]
Later, he says "You're darn right the government doesn't have any business making laws about this! God already did! "THOU SHALT NOT MURDER"!!! "
But the Bible makes plenty of exceptions. The only possible reference to abortion in the Bible is a passage about injuring a woman so as to cause a miscarriage. The injuring party has to pay the husband. The Bible is unclear about whether there is a distinction between a premature birth and the death of the fetus.
Oh, man, that's hilarious! It would be funny enough if it were just legitimately mistyped; his logic would still be faulty, but at least that's all. But for him to actually MEAN this, and think he's using logic because he used the classic syllogism pattern (completely incorrectly), that just makes this a sweet case of frosting-coated idiocy!

Even if your "logic" made sense, it would not trump my right to decide what happens inside my body, Fuckwit.
My uterus is mine. I own it. What happens therein is not your business.
I'm the guy who made the original statement, and I see that the hothead that I was arguing with made a point to draw everyone's attention to my mistake.
No, that's not logic. Sorry, what I meant to say was this: Murder is wrong, and abortion is murder, hence, abortion is wrong. I was so in the mindset that wrong equals murder that I used the same word over again.
Of course, whether abortion is murder or not is pretty clear, IF you look in the right place. The quote there offers nothing that proves abortion to be murder, but the context from which it was taken DID offer a good deal of support as to why abortion is murder.
1.
Numbers 31:17 “Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every women that hath known man by lying with him.”
What a good pro-life God you have!
2.
“If any of you has a dispute with another, dare he take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the saints?” -- 1 Corinthians 6:1 NIV
Basically god just said, "Instead of standing infront of clinics and courthouses, bring it to the church, to me. Or shut the fuck up."
A dog is a dog because a dog is a dog, is not logic.
In any case, you've done nothing to establish that abortion is murder. So, both from a logical and from a factual point of view, you fail. Utterly.
"I just said: Murder is wrong, and abortion is murder, hence; abortion is murder. That's not typographical stammering, that's logic."
Therefore, it was logical for anti -abortionist & pro -Lifer Scott Roeder to retroactively abort Dr. Tiller, then...?
