Baphomet, the half male, half female goat god of the Knights Templar, was revived by Eliphas Levi, the infamous 19th century Freemason and magician and reportedly is worshipped today by homosexual cults.

Ooh, this guy's well in the running for an all-forums trifecta award! He's easily covered the bases for religious fundamentalism by bashing other gods, and that freemason/templar shit is classic conspiracy theory. All in one sentence too, that's got to be worth some bonus points. If only the third forum was "bigots say the darndest things" instead of "racists say the darndest things", he'd be in there with his closing swipe at homosexuals. Ah well, better luck next time Dave!
I thought the Templars were wiped out because the Catholic Chuch was jealous of their wealth and power and the Baphomet stuff was just black propaganda to justify it.
Incidentally, that site's well worth a visit, it's hilarious!
Oh yes, all my gay friends worship Baphomet and are Freemasons. It's the very latest thing, although they tell me keeping magical goatgods in the house gets to be a chore, what with the curtains being eaten and all.
(Hey, may as well ramp it up.)
Oooh! I have a half male, half female goat god?
Where? I must have missed that memo...
(David, you're a fucking idiot.)
Wow, a DJS quote that isn’t 100% wrong!
The Knights Templar were indeed accused of worshipping an idol called Baphomet. But it wasn’t a “half male, half female goat god”, it was supposed to be the head of a bearded man. (Maybe meant to be Mohammed.)
It was indeed Eliphas Lévi who defined the modern, goat-like figure in the 19th century. But I very much doubt it that there are modern “homosexual cults” which worship this most probably made up demon/deity.
@ Lunalelle
Wow, I worship a goat?
Yeah, me too; Chivas Regal.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
