Today on “The 700 Club,” a viewer asked host Pat Robertson what she should say to a coworker who asked her, “Why did God allow my baby to die?”
He responded that it is possible that the coworker’s three-year-old child died as a result of human error at the hospital: “Are you going to blame that on God? That’s not God, that’s people who are making mistakes.”
Robertson, who once said at a faith healing that God could bring a dead baby back to life, continued that perhaps the child would have turned out to be the next Adolf Hitler, and therefore it is better that the woman’s child is in Heaven rather than becoming a murderer.
“As far as God’s concerned, he knows the end from the beginning and He sees a little baby and that little baby could grow up to be Adolf Hitler, he could grow up to be Joseph Stalin, he could grow up to be some serial killer, or he could grow up to die of a hideous disease,” Robertson said. “God sees all of that, and for that life to be terminated while he’s a baby, he’s going to be with God forever in Heaven so it isn’t a bad thing.”

Pat Robertson: "As far as God’s concerned, he knows the end from the beginning and He sees a little baby and that little baby could grow up to be Adolf Hitler, he could grow up to be Joseph Stalin, he could grow up to be some serial killer, or he could grow up to die of a hideous disease. God sees all of that, and for that life to be terminated while he’s a baby, he’s going to be with God forever in Heaven so it isn’t a bad thing."
Asker: "What about the actual Hitler and Stalin? Or Ted Bundy? Osama bin Laden? Anders Breivik? Did they slip past His radar or something?"
Pat ("stern teacher" voice): "Our place is not to *question* God!! It is to *obey his will*!!!"
In other words, events transpire exactly as though Bible God does not exist.
However, if He does exist then He is very inconsistent, Look at all the evil babies that He's allowed to live instead of whisking them away to Heaven.
Hitler is Bible God's fault. What a knobhead He is.
And yet if the doctors had been able to save the child you would have asserted that it wasn't their work at all but rather god's. And if the child had, indeed turned out to be the next Hitler then you (assuming you lived long enough to see it) would have just brushed it off as god working in mysterious (read: nonsensical and inconsistent) ways.
Just roll over and die already, Pat. Your already practically an addled Crypt Keeper.
"Robertson, who once said at a faith healing that God could bring a dead baby back to life, continued that perhaps the child would have turned out to be the next Adolf Hitler, and therefore it is better that the woman’s child is in Heaven rather than becoming a murderer. "
This is why we should do as many abortions as possible. Right, Pat?
People who are making mistakes? So, God is not omnipotent and omnipresent? Good to know that.
[...]
But, now he's suddenly omnipotent and omnipresent again...
How come the FIRST Adolf Hitler was not killed in infancy?
He responded that it is possible that the coworker’s three-year-old child died as a result of human error at the hospital: “Are you going to blame that on God? That’s not God, that’s people who are making mistakes.”
But when a surgeon completes a successful surgery and saves someone's life, God gets all the credit.
Robertson, who once said at a faith healing that God could bring a dead baby back to life, continued that perhaps the child would have turned out to be the next Adolf Hitler, and therefore it is better that the woman’s child is in Heaven rather than becoming a murderer.
What a fucking asshole. I mean, telling a grieving mother than her baby might have grown up to be a serial killer or the next Hitler? What the fuck is wrong with him?
The anti-abortion crowd often uses this argument in reverse -- "the baby you kill might have grown up to discover a cure for cancer." When it's turned around to Robertson's very comment, that the kid could also grow up to be the next Hitler, they suddenly don't have an answer.
So it was all part of god's plan ...is that all you've got? Those are the only words of comfort you have to offer a grieving parent?
You truly are a wretched and worthless sack of cells, Marion.
Please, do the compassionate thing and shut the fuck up. Permanently. I'm not saying you should shrug off the meat suit, just that since you haven't been gifted with either a brain or a heart, the best course of action is to not inflict further harm on an already hurting fellow human by keeping your talky-hole from engaging.
You know, I usually would expect that Pat would respond about the passing of a toddler would be "It's God's will.", not " That’s not God, that’s people who are making mistakes.” Perhaps Pat's mask is slipping and people are starting to see that he's a wolf in sheep's clothing.
The "700 Club" is shown on the digital Freeview TBNUK channel, which started up earlier this year.
Every single edition - especially those segments featuring Patty-boy himself - has been heavily edited before broadcast on this British version of Trinity Broadcast Network. Because you wouldn't want to lose your broadcast licence here in the UK, eh Jan Crouch? Be awful, if you lost the right to broadcast in my country, and your channel frequency was given to, say... 'BabeStation': A late night softcore porn phone sex channel; of which there are already four on Freeview TV, three being run by BabeStation...! >:D
OFCOM. Ensuring fundie bias-based BS has no right to exist on the UK's airwaves. If you want to know why, just read the OP quote.
A verbally castrated Pat Robertson. And forced , by a UK-based governmental organisation, no less. [/WBC's ban on entering UK by Labour * Home Secretary Jacqui Smith] Suck on those shrivelled-up (and in more ways than one!) bollocks, fundies. But of course o US fundies, it is God's will. [/Romans 13:1-5] >:D
...but then, we - via 'The Few': those ultra-heroic Spitfire & Hurricane pilots with cojones the size of Death Stars - castrated the already monobollocked Hitler in the Battle of Britain.

Pat Robertson gets a sex change?! (Looks out the window). Nope. Still no flying pigs.
I suppose it could have been worse. After all, her baby could have grown up to be Pat Robertson 2.0, so maybe it's better that way.
Hurry up & die now, Pat. We implore you.
As somebody who has lost a child, I don't know how I would react if I was told it was because she might have ended up a genocidal facist, but I think "Badly" would probably be in there
As for Pat, suggesting this as a response to a woman seeing your advice on how to console a friend who was hurting:
F*ck you, f*ck you, f*ck you, f*ck you, f*ck you, f*ck you, f*ck you, f*ck you, f*ck you, f*ck you and f*ck you
Also go f*ck yourself
(As always, sorry about the profanity, but in this case I felt it was warrented)
"He sees a little baby and that little baby could grow up to be Adolf Hitler, he could grow up to be Joseph Stalin,"
If you wish to keep your job I suggest you don't take Pat's advice.
If the kid was so wicked, why not let him live right up until he turns evil? Wouldn't that be more humane? Like, how about if Hitler died of a heart attack in Landsberg, and the Nazi party collapsed in his absence? Millions would have survived, fascism would have been forgotten, Europe could have avoided the Cold War. And while we're at it, why couldn't God have refrained from giving Lenin a stroke so he could continue to rule and perhaps oust Stalin before his rise to power even began?
But I guess this isn't about saving millions of lives at all. It's not about who deserves to live or die. It's just about the great plan, which humanity doesn't need to know about and wouldn't understand. Usually when people are told they don't need to know something or wouldn't understand, it's very sinister and you're better off ditching the ruler who talks like that while you still live.
The latter half is a repeat, but it sure highlights the hypocrisy in how Pat caters to his viewers. When it's comparatively safe he'll make rants for the blood god, but as soon as someone who has dealt with a friend's personal tragedy he acts the emotional empath and absolves God's responsibility by pinning it on the human. You're nothing but a coward and a charlatan.
Confused?
