Again, New Testament. I'll say it again, New Testament. Where did Jesus personally order the death and destruction of entire cities? Where did he personally command his followers to brutally kill those who disagreed with him?

You keep bringing up Old Testament fire and brimstone examples. However, the questions of whether Jesus was actually the Old Testament God, some aspect of him, or something else has vexed early Christian historians for along time. Those at the Council of Nicea couldn't quite agree. Just look up the "adoptionists" to see what I mean, and to get a whole new perspective on the, "Why have you forsaken me?" question.

On the other hand, Mohammad did just that, multiple times over. That's what makes islamic extremism so dangerous, and engenders attacks like those in Paris. Their "good book" says its okay to commit such acts. Heck, Mohammad committed such acts, so to say they're not right would be to go against the literal physical teachings and actions of Mohammad.

The infantile Christain (i.e. you) has to answer our questions. 1 Thessalonians 5:21 QJV): 'Prove all things'. It says it that way, therefore it means it that way; no 'Interpretation' allowed.

You're only destroying your 'cause' by not answering our questions, and to our satisfaction. The questioner (in this case, Merlin) can and will come to their own conclusions based on your refusal to answer. And don't forget:

According to John 10:30, Jesus is not just co-equal to the father, they are actually one.
[Context: Jesus was preaching about how he and the father were one and the same, not just heaven-buddies]:

26"But you do not believe because you are not of My sheep.

28and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish...

Then he goes on to say that the father not only gave him his followers, but that he and the father are one, as in one essence:
29"My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.
30"I and the Father are one."

This pushes the Jews over the edge because it is one thing to say you are so great that you are like god the father, or even co-equal with him, but it is another thing to say that you ARE the father:
31The Jews picked up stones again to stone Him.

Flashback: god/jesus orders the destruction of all mankind except Noah and his family.

In the past, Christians have committed acts of violence that are just as bad, if not worse, than the things ISIS is doing. Therefore, regardless of what thir holy books say, Christians have just as much potential to be violent as Muslims, if not more (for instance, who started the Crusades?). Since most Christians in the west seem peaceful now, there are two possible conclusions:
1. Religions cannot become more peaceful, in which case Christianity is still an active and present threat.
2. Religions can become peaceful, in which case Islam would cease to be a threat if people outside of the religion didn't keep making the situation worse.
Furthermore:
Widespread acts of Christian terrorism occurred in Ireland in the early 1900s.
Incidents of Christian terrorism have continued to occur in western nations since then.
Nations such as Uganda have displayed incredibly discriminatory treatment of gay people in the name of 'Christian values' - the same discriminatory treatment that you seem to enjoy pointing out in Muslims to try and sway us against the entire religion.
This site contains many people who have stated a willingness to carry out the first three in America (or other western nations), being constrained only by the legal penalties they would face (for instance, that pastor who called for gay people to be publicly executed - who, by the way, was supported by several Republican candidates).

Because Christians have much longer history of excessive bloodshed, and the violent extremists approximate less than 10% of the global Muslim population, and yet the entire demographic is expected to answer for that 10%.

Meanwhile, in America, people are starving to death, being denied medication, or beaten to death in the name of Christianity. 90% of our government is made up of Christians, some of whom are benevolent, but Christians don't make up 90% of the population, meaning that representation is skewed.

These same Christians are the ones physically assaulting people who "appear Muslim" (read: Arab) in the streets, trying to tear off their clothes. They're the same ones vandalising their houses and places of worship.

Let's face it, if we judged every demographic by the absolute worst doctrine espoused, then not even atheism would be safe, as "doctrine" could be taken as anything anyone has said that has been received by less than 5% of the group as a whole. And that's being generous, but fair when compared to the Muslim extremists.
