The Pope is very welcome to believe in evolution if he wishes. But someone should let him know that anyone who professes to be a Christian yet believes in Darwinian evolution, reveals three things.

1. They probably think that they are siding with science. They don’t realize that the theory has no scientific basis—that it’s unproven, and that it has to be received on blind faith.

2. More than likely they are confused between “adaptation” (varieties within kinds of animals—such as the difference between a Chihuahua and a Great Dane) and “Darwinian evolution.” Adaptation is all around us and it has nothing to do with Darwinian evolution.

And, 3. They don’t believe Jesus. This is because He ruled out any thought of evolution when He said “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning made them male and female” (Matthew 19:4).

1. A hypothesis doesn't become a theory until there is enough evidence to prove it, dumbass! The ToE has more scientific basis than the Theory of Gravity. So, if any of them has to be received on blind faith, it's gravity (or Intelligent Falling).

2. Nobody, but stupid Cretinists, talk about "Darwinian evolution". Lamarckian evolution has been debunked, so there is no need to specify who published it first. Darwin would probably hardly recognize the theory, if he came back today. Adaptation is EXACTLY what evolution is all about, stupid.

3. For all we know, God might have kick-started evolution. Not all species have males and females, and the mutation that caused that split came fairly early on; a mere billion years after life emerged or so.

They are called Biologists, not evolutionary professors, and they don't "believe", they question, study and investigate. There is literally thousands of tons of evidence in favor of evolution, in museums and laboratories all around the world, and in Nature as well.

You can stop calling it "Darwinian" evolution. While Darwin may have originated the theory, he is no longer relevant or important to it. Our understanding of evolution has advanced far past what Darwin stated, incorporating (and even predicting) new discoveries in biology and medicine. Far from looking at two animals and saying "hey, those look kind of like they had a common ancestor", we can look at the DNA and say "Yup, there is a direct relationship". We can use this knowledge to change the very world around us. Darwin is not some god-figure that we worship. Even if you were to prove that Darwin was an evil child-raping maniac, who only came to his theory of evolution because he was completely insane and had no idea what he was doing, it doesn't matter. The theory has withstood every scientific test that has been tried. Evolution is a demonstrated fact that has been applied in laboratories around the world, and in the outside world. The Theory of Evolution explains how this process occurs, and while we may have some details wrong, we can only make the theory better.

Your book claims that striped sticks make goats produce striped or spotted offspring.

...meanwhile, in Westminster Abbey, the central place of worship of the Protestant Church of England:

Y'know, Cray-Ray, the Church of England; King Henry VIII and all that jazz. Founded as a response against the Catholic church (and because he wanted a divorce; many times, so he was as anti-Catholic as you - or even Newt Gingrich - can get, eh?!). The very Protestant King James I; his Bible, and all that jazz...!

PROTIP: In his early years, Darwin was in training to join the Church of England's clergy. From his discoveries to his death, he was an Agnostic. The C-of-E welcomed his "On the Origin of Species" - which sold more than the Bible at that time - with open arms, as even they openly admitted that much of the Bible, including Genesis, is purely fable & metaphor: as in not to be taken literally.

Banana Man is very welcome to create his own version of Christainity. But someone should let him know that it would be just one more to add to the tens of thousands of denominations that exist today.

Greek/Russian Orthodox Church. Sedevacantists. There's far less denominations of Catholicism than there are Protestant, so good luck with [i]Musa[/i]ianity.

Ray, I saw your so called "movie". You managed to cut a few minutes of interviews with experts in which you insisted that the speciation events we've witnessed thus far don't count as evolution because it is still the same "kind". However, when King Crocoduck confronted you on what this means, you refused to define what a "kind" was, instead giving vague examples, such as "dog kind", and "cat kind". Oddly enough, if you go by Linnean Taxonomy (which you didn't even know what that was when KC questioned you despite me understanding it in seventh grade), humans would be part of the "ape" kind. In reality, proving the existence of separately created kinds would disprove Darwinian evolution and common descent.

Lets talk about the Chihuahua and a Great Dane as it is a perfect example to illustrate how evolution works. Forget for the moment that both breeds were basically genetically engineered to be in the state they are now. Understand that in order for evolution to work, there must be a barrier between populations that prohibits the sharing of genetic material. It is this barrier that forces different populations to adapt to different environments, eventually leading to different species. Species are consider different when they can no longer reproduce and have viable off spring. While a Chihuahua and a Great Dane are still both dogs and if a scientist got a sperm from one and an egg from another they could likely create a "test tube puppy" that would be viable... and very interesting. However, in nature there is simply no physical way that a Chihuahua and a Great Dane could ever mate. The difference in physical size creates a barrier to the sharing of DNA. The Chihuahua will continue to "adapt" as Ray calls it as will the Great Dane. Eventually there will have been so much "adaptation" that said scientist will no longer be able to create a viable embryo in a lab environment. The genetic material just will not match up.

This, Ray, is evolution. It is pretty simple and it does not require any "belief" at all.

Escept the differences between Great Danes and Chihuahua's aren't a result of adaptative change but instead are the result of evolutionary change.

Adapaptation and evolution are indeed two different entities. Adaptative changes occur at the level of an individual organism, within a single generation, does not occur as a function of changes in genetic composition, and adaptive changes are not inheritable. A good example would be the physologic changes an athlete exhibits when training at higher altitudes, resulting in improved aerobic capacity.

Evolutionary changes occur instead at the level of populations of living organisms, over multiple generations, as a function of changes in the genetic composition of that population, and are always inheritable. The classic example is industrial melanization in Peppered Moths.
