NO! LEAD IS EVIL!
Here's an idea; Hong Kongers have a longer life-span due to other factors. They're probably a bit freer, more prosperous, have better diets and more opportunities.
I don't know much about Hong Kong but my impression has been that, despite being part of China, now, it's somehow allowed to have more relaxed rules and freedoms (because that's what they know, so most of that British stuff is still grandfathered in).
If this looks like something a stereotypical pro-business politician would say, it is because he was litteraly elected by the finance.
He was also the guy who argued the three booksellers who sold books critical toward mainlandr political leadership who were arrested by the Communist authorities underwxent this because they went to brothels.
Back to the topic, lead is really bad for brain growth and other bad things, as seen here .

I speculate that lead poisoning in your brain convinced you to say this.
I love how the journalist concluded his article:Ng probably lives in a luxury estate where the water pipes are lead-free. That’s unfortunate.
Perhaps Ng should introduce lead into drinking water to his home over an extended period of time so he can test his theory that the substance may make people live longer.
Lead isn't very good for you at any concentration, although I may have the nasty poisonous heavy metal to thank for my very existence. My mum was married at 16 to a guy who worked in the shipyards spraying red lead paint onto ships. Lead has been linked to increased aggression, and indeed, he was a violent prick to my mum. This caused her to leave him and meet my dad. So maybe its not all that bad..... :)

China is gradually degrandfathering the British regs in Hong Kong. They know if they did it all at once there would be a never ending revolt that would destroy the place, leaving it valueless to them.

Didn't we already go over the whole "lead is bad for you" thing decades ago? Or weeks ago in the case of Michigan?
You know, Ng, we have this thing called science and these scientists have answered this question a very long time ago - lead is toxic and will damage your internal organs but right ahead, infuse your drinking water with ample amount of lead and drink it, day after day after day. We will son be rid of you!
