The warning on the government website was stark. Some products and remedies claiming to treat or cure autism are being marketed deceptively and can be harmful. Among them: chelating agents, hyperbaric oxygen therapies, chlorine dioxide and raw camel milk.

The Food and Drug Administration pulled the page down late last year. The federal Department of Health and Human Services told ProPublica in a statement that it retired the webpage “during a routine clean up of dated content at the end of 2025,” noting the page had not been updated since 2019. Some advocates for people with autism don’t understand that decision. “It may be an older page, but those warnings are still necessary,” said Zoe Gross, a director at the Autistic Self Advocacy Network, a nonprofit policy organization run by and for autistic people. “People are still being preyed on by these alternative treatments like chelation and chlorine dioxide. Those can both kill people.”

Ron Johnson’s endorsement of a new book by Dr. Pierre Kory, which describes the chemical as a “remarkable molecule” that, when diluted and ingested, “works to treat everything from cancer and malaria to autism and COVID.”

Johnson, a Wisconsin Republican who has amplified anti-scientific claims around COVID-19, supplied a blurb for the cover of the book, “The War on Chlorine Dioxide.” He called it “a gripping tale of corruption and courage that will open eyes and prompt serious questions.”

Bigtree makes two core claims about vaccination, both of which are demonstrably false. New vaccines, however, are usually compared with older vaccines because it’s considered unethical, not to mention unwise, to put children at risk of contracting a vaccine-preventable disease.

That brings us to Bigtree’s second, arguably more outrageous claim: Vaccine-preventable illnesses simply aren’t so bad. He wants children, including his own, to get infected so that they can avoid the dangers of vaccination and develop more robust immunity. They will have, as he put it, the “Ferrari of immunity,” while the rest of us will be driving around in Ford Pintos. He told me he would prefer to live in an entirely unvaccinated country, one where the diseases that sickened millions in the first half of the 20th century could spread freely. That’s a frankly ridiculous notion, as I told him later. But Bigtree is committed to it. “I genuinely am upset that your kids are vaccinated, because it’s keeping my kids from getting chickenpox. Mattel’s launch this week of its autistic Barbie doll triggered a hot debate among advocates for and parents of autistic people.

Those in favor said the doll may be relatable to a growing number of children. Others accused the toymaker of “normalizing” the autism epidemic.

Dr. Peter McCullough said autistic Barbie “raises complex ethical and sociological concerns.” He said it “blurs critical distinctions between acceptance and indifference” and “can dull urgency for researching underlying causes, removing pressure from regulatory agencies and vaccine developers whose negligence may have contributed to the surge in cases.”

Well you know this was coming, and here it is, if you chose to ascribe to the idea that your child is simply “indigo” in lieu of a formal and legal classification, you may risk in-class and after school accommodations. In order for a student to receive accommodations in school, it is likely that he or she will need either a suspected or an actual cognitive diagnosis such as ADD/ADHD or a condition on the Autism spectrum. With that said, it is important to not let a diagnosis define your student and if the student feels more comfortable identifying at home as “indigo”, more power to your family! Just be careful and cognizant as to how you advocate for your student at IEP meetings and in more informal settings.

@Arryanna I warned my family members about these shot's and today one is fighting cancer (statue four stomach, found it less then 8 months ago), one has myocarditis (which I warned about in great detail before her first shot), two have autoimmune issues. They looked at me like I was crazy when I told them about what can happen from getting these shot's. I told my 10 years old that some of them will die from these shot's and in less then three years I was correct. It's sad and the people that mandated these shot's for employment need to be prosecuted.
